I recieved my approval letter March 24, 2014. It states that they would be sending it to the NVC, but the nvc has yet to recieve anything and it's abou to be 4 months. Can anyone tell me what's going on? I call every 2 weeks and they tell me to call back in two more weeks. I emailed NVC research like 3 weeks ago and nothing. I also called USCIS and they said it takes up to 30 days for them to investigate. I am beyond frustrated. I was really hoping my husband would be here by December for our son's first birthday but I really think that its next to impossible.

Well it happen the same thing to me. my case was approved on January, 10,2014, and they said it will take 8 weeks for the case to be received, after two 8 weeks the case was not received, NVC asked me to send an email to NVC research and wait 30 days, i've done that but in the same time, i kept calling USCIS and they all say it was shipped on January, 10 2014 which was incorrect, so i insisted to talk to a supervisor each time, until i talked to one that was really helpful and he confirmed to me that my case was in texas center, and i told him why the other supervisor kept saying it was shipped, he said that they have two system and one of the system was showing Texas and other one showing NBC. he said he will send an expedite request to ship it, he sent the request on April 18th, and was received by NVC on April 21.

Good luck and try to call a supervisor

Same thing happened to me.

You need to send an email to nvcresearch@state.gov Put your USCIS receipt number in the subject line. Briefly explain the issue in the body, and include the names and DOB for each of you. Also attach a scanned copy of your NOA2 (or the pdf they sent you).

NVC will petition on your behalf to USCIS.

You should also get your congressman involved!

Good luck!!!

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

Right now while they are still open you get on phone request no demand for a Tier 2 supervisor and ask this,

"What is the date my petition physically left the service center?"

They have this information and like the other poster said they were told the wrong thing for weeks. So ask.

NVC won't investigate a dang thing. If its not with them that's all they will do. Call USCIS now and ask what I posted. Report back what they say.

I am sorry to hear that. You should not have waited for four months already to ask this question. However, better late than never.

Call USCIS helpline, and do not try explaining anything to the customer service people, the tier 1 guys. They know nothing. Once they pick up ask the person " May I speak to a Tier 2 officer, please?" . They are going to say yes, and will ask what's the purpose of your call to the tier 2 officer. After that they connect you. The hold time can be long, but it gives you an option to enter your phone number and hang up, the tier 2 officer will call you back after the wait time.

By the time they call you, your case file is already in front of them, so they know who you are, what is your petition about etc. be quick to demand an answer to " Please tell me where is my approved petition and on which date it is leaving/ has left the service center?". The tier 2 officers are very busy and sometimes not in their best mood, it's no use arguing with them, rather get your work done in limited time. If you happen to get a call from a nice tier 2 officer who has patience, explain, and request he/ she puts a note in the system to expedite transfer your file to NVC effective immediately. Those guys do have the power to do that. Their note goes directly to the service center and if it is expedite request, they review it within few hours.

Good luck. Until that file leaves USCIS building, NVC is not going to do a thing for you, still try to send an email to NVC research and see what they tell you.

I did all this but the tier 2 supervisor told me that nvc is really behind on Dominican visas she said that they sent it to nvc march 24 so chances are the visa is just sitting at nvc waiting to be reviewed. My attorney also informed me they are about 6 months behind on the visas. Its a bummer I really wanted my husband here for our sons first birthday. I did contact the congressmen I just have to sign a release form and she will investigate for me. Maybe that will help it move quicker.

Where it's going to doesn't matter, they'll still work on it.

There's no Visa sitting anywhere. Visas are given after an approved interview at the embassy.

Right now your petition is sitting at NVC waiting for more processing. Since March? Are you (petitioner I mean) a US citizen or a LPR? What category are you? Seems extreme you been sitting for 4 months with no movement.

So you haven't even got case#?
