Typically the AP only lasts a day or two.

With Pakistan as a home country, it's not Vancouver holding up the process. I know this sucks given that you are approaching the 3 year mark for this process. From what I understand, they have 12 months to either issue the visa or revoke it. Given the history of your case, I would be prepared to see them continue to drag their feet. Your last bout with AP was 3.5 months, that would be a good estimate.

You have a bit of an unusual case, so your road has been harder than most. I suggest a small quick wedding and planning a bigger one in a year or so that allows you to do everything you want. (Plus AOS will be out of the way so you can likely plan a nice honeymoon too.) No one besides immigration (and the officiant) needs to know you're already married.

I'm sorry it's been such a journey for you.

I had my interview on the 10th, was approved- they took my passport and said I should get my visa in 5-7 days.

Status changed from immigrant > non-immigrant and AP last Friday (July 11th) and hasn't changed since. One week and counting ... everywhere I read people say one or two days on AP before issue. Sigh so depressing.

FYI just got this message from Vancouver Consulate:

There was a delay in the processing of your K-1 visa because late last week there was a severe worldwide computer issue and our systems were down. Once the system came back up on Monday, it basically took time to catch up on all the cases that were affected by this computer problem. We have since issued your visa, your package is being shipped to Loomis this afternoon. Please wait for Loomis to contact you by email to advise you when to pick up your package at the Loomis location you selected.

Thank You all, still waiting =/

What is the cost breakdown for the AOS? I actually haven't researched what we are to do after he enters with a visa.

Filing Fee

$985. (Add $85 biometric fee for a total of $1070, where applicable.) The includes the cost of the I-131 and I-765 if filed with or while your I-485 application is pending adjudication.

AOS is $1070. Highly suggest you guys start researching and doing the forms. He can go to an SSA office to get an SSN 2 weeks after arrival. I suggest doing it sooner rather than waiting. Also, he can apply for EI within 4 weeks of leaving his employment but cannot collect it until he has his EAD. Most men want to start working sooner vs later. ;)
