  1. 1. Was this ok?

    • Yes. Trash talking, in all its forms, is an essential part of sports.

    • No. Making fun of people is always wrong. The Argentinian team deserves kudos for a game well played. After all, it's not about winning or losing it's about blah blah blah.

See no issue having a go at the Argies.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

This is just trash talking because you beat somebody. Gaucho is similar to cowboy and is more regional than racial, as far as I know. It is possible to criticize or even mock someone without it being racist, even if that person is of another race.

If you believe Schweinsteiger, he said that the reporter was very nice looking and that he's very happy. The reality is a bit different. She asked him about the Golden Boot which he missed winning by just one goal. He told her that he is not interested in that sh!t. He told her, We're the champions, we've got the trophy. And then he told her that she can take that golden boot and shove it where the sun doen't shine.

He wasn't serious, however. It's just how he rolls.

Thomas Mueller (the German player Schweinsteiger commented on), was acutally talking Bavarian and this translates different into English than High German. But it basicly it came down to he "wasn't interested and doesn't care about the subject since they won the world cup".

You brought it down in two sentences. Good job.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

Are you trying to give me a lesson in German? I know what he said and I know what it means.

That's where the difference is: Mueller spoke Bavarian, not German.

I know, to the German ear it may sound a bit harsher than to the Bavarian ear. But the essence of the message is all the same. Couple of my dad's siblings lived in Bavaria since early childhood. This Saupreiß is quite familiar with the Bavarian dialect.

The Gauchos don't seem to take any prisoners either. Here you have them celebrating Neymar's broken back after they won against Belgium.

Sick Argentina fans taunt Neymar by celebrating with fake spine skeleton after win against Belgium

If you didn't think the little Nazis did anything bad here, I'm not sure why you had to go digging for dirt on the Gauchos.
