I was going to submit last years tax return, this years 1040, 3 pay stubs, letter from employer, and bank letter

Does it matter if my bank account is a joint account , but the money and deposits are mine?

Also if you make way above the 125% poverty line does it matter the ending balance of the account is low if yI have proof of deposits? Basically do you have to have savings if your income is sufficient?

Thanks in advance for any replies :)

Should I wait till we get the letter from the NOA3 or send it to my fiance now that I have recieved my NOA2

Well I didn't really have any money saved but my imcome was sufficent. I didn't submit bank statements, instead I had the bank write a letter for me stating my total amount deposited over the year, opening date of account, and average balance.

My average balance was not high at all. In fact it was low since money was going out of my account faster than it came in. As far as having a joint bank account, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on who the other person is. I would think that if you had a letter of employment verifying your income along with matching deposits you should be fine. However for you taxes you should call the IRS and get transcripts which the embassy likes much better.

What is NOA3? I sent everything when I got NOA2 neatly organized in a binder with dividers

I don't know about a joint account either and whether it will have any impact.

Like JP, I got a letter from the bank. Sounds to me like you have everything that you need for I-134 . . . last years tax return, paystubs, employer letter, etc. I'd go ahead and send it now if you are sending it snail mail . . . but if you send Fedex or DHL (which costs a lot more), then it can be there in a few days. You can always scan and email other docs if you find out something is missing at the last minute.

Oh, and if your tax return/pay stubs show you are way above 125%, then I don't think you have to show proof of other assets like savings, etc. But I actually sent a copy of my 401K statement . . . a bit of overkill since I am way above 125% too.

Good Luck!!

Catherine

When I sent in the I134 I included my tax return from 2005 which was below the requirement since I didn't work a full year in 2005. I also included all my check stubs from 2006 (from Jan until Sept.), a bank letter, and bank statements for 6 mos. Although I didn't make the requirements for 2005 they still approved it because of all the pay stubs I included. Egypt isn't terribly strict about the I134, in fact they didn't even request it in the packet 3 paperwork. I sent it just to be on the safe side.
