Permanent Green Card Delivery

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall reading that one should receive their permanent green card in the mail within 30 days, though usually sooner. I'm well over the 30-day mark and have exactly zero green card to my name (aside from my temporary visa in my passport, of course). My CBP officer did make my temporary green card valid through the entire 2-year CR1 timeframe, so I realize it's kind of moot, I'd just really like to know where my green card is.

I can't recal where one would call - or if there's an online resource - to check the status of your permanent green card. Anyone know? What is the normal green card delivery timeframe?

It can take 30 - 60 days to receive the plastic green card in the mail.

You can check your status online at ELIS: http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis

If you go here https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do you can type in your I-485 receipt number and the last status should have the USPS tracking number. Go to www.usps.com and see where the card is. It would tell you basically if it was "delivered" or possibly returned to USCIS. Either way call the 1-800 number. Just to give you some information before you call them. If it showed delivered, but you never received it. You will have to pay the fee to get a new one. The only way for them to send out a new one for free is if the card was "Returned To Sender".

Hope this helps.

Mike

They do not have an I-485 receipt number. They entered the US with a CR-1 visa. They do not file for AOS.

1) what does your ELIS say?

2) takes from 1-3 months after POE or immigrant fee payment (whichever is later) to recieve green card normally.

You're well within this time frame

3) do you have your SSN?
