I am working Saturday, and have Sunday and Monday off. ( Monday is a public holiday - umi no hi ( ocean day)- when everyone is supposed to go to the beach).

I shall be catching up on household chores, reading and sleeping. I haven't had a day off in two weeks. I might go to an onsen( hot spring ).

Also will be eating unagi ( grilled eel) to keep up my strength in the summer heat) as it will soon be unagi no hi (eel day- a day designated for eating eels).

The Italian food sounds great.

I forget you're in Japan. Please tell me you've had Coco's Curry?

Yeah, but I don't like it so much as I am used to English Indian curries.

Here when they serve a hot curry, all they do is add a tonne load of black pepper. I always make sure to go to Indian restaurants run by Indians and get some really hot spicy stuff.

I left Japan for a year two years ago , and since I have come back there has been a great increase in the Indian population here. Pretty amazing considering what it was like here 10 years or so ago,

Ha ha! I admire your persistence and perseverance, Teddy. Great new title.

Thanks Jacque! :)

You're not the only one. Food is my passion. The good thing was, I started off doing half days first. So it wasn't a complete shock to my system.

That sounds like a blast. How's the weather down there?

The weather has been great the last month or so. July and August are the best months for sunny summer weather. It's averaged 80 to 85 degrees and sunny almost every day.

No - I'm south east of London. Hull's quite a ways up north.

I've known these folks for about 12 years via the internet, husband and wife. We met on another discussion board that I used to post on way back. Good people.

We are looking after our friends 6 year old son because they are off birthing another one. He's a good kid though so it'll be fun. Also my wife bought me a new Macbook air which gets delivered today so I'll probably spend some time with that.

Thanks for asking Mr. B.

I usually end up working harder on the weekends around the house than I do during the week. Typical liberal. :P

I can only go a couple weeks without Italian food, my inner voices kick in and tell me it's time for sauce and goodies!

I just bought the Mrs a new I-pad Air for her birthday. She was debating on whether she wanted the Macbook or not, but decided to go with the I-pad. She has informed me that now she needs a detachable keyboard for the i-pad. I asked, doesn't that pretty much make it the Macbook that you decided not to get?

Can you make a good braciole?(spelling?)

I had an Italian boyfriend once, and his food was to die for. He introduced me to lots of goats cheeses and salamis which aren't available in Japan. But boy, was he a fussy eater. I am used to fast foods such as sashimi and sushi, plus everyone here in Japan uses a microwave. He was very snobbish about that and forced me to wait hours for one of his dishes!

I need to run 12 miles tomorrow. :(

I love it. Probably because Indian curry for me is too sweet. But everyone has their preference. I miss the food over there. Was trying to get a position in Atsugi or Camp Foster, but no go.

Sounds nice. I'm actually psyched about moving that way. Haven't felt like that in a long time...

We meet up at the run club at 7am and start running from the run club.

Part of the 16 weeks marathon training. Saturdays are the long distance run.

I'm going to die when the long run hits 20 miles.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

You spelled it correctly. I have never attempted to make a braciole. My grandmother used to make a killer one. You've given me something to put on my list of things to try. I love to cook and will try most anything at least once.

My Grandma's braciole looked like this.

His father was from Rome, and his mother, Genoa so he knew a wide range of dishes. He once made a casserole using mergaiz? Blood sausages which was excellent.

He used to send me out to buy ingredients which I never knew anything about. pecco Romano etc. ah, those were the days!!!

I can do four hours in the gym, 5 days a week no problem. But I can't run long distances outside. I can't take the mental strain. I start thinking things like why am I running, how much further etc.
