Where? I am considering a job in Riyadh. Curious what life is like there.

Dhahran. Less traffic than Riyadh, and a little less conservative. We're on the beach actually, about a 2-block walk. Keeps the kids busy and the water is extremely clear, almost like the coast of florida. Riyadh is drier and land-locked but I know a few guys there and they say it isn't bad. You just have to acclimate to the hot weather but Sept-April it's dam nice. Shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up with a couple of expat forums that you and your wife can browse - they have all sorts of little details about life here.

I got a FB friend who is Chief Pilot at a Helicopter service in Doha. Guy was a Cobra pilot in the Nam. Got to be pushing mid 60's.

When I was a kid growing up in Mid-GA, he use to fly his oil rig MD-500 and land it, in our back yard. "We had about 30 acres" His folks lived across the street and he would fly up several times a year to visit. He took me for a ride when I was about 14 or so. That was a child hood memory I shall never forget.

Mr U and I dragged our bums out of bed and went for Mexican this morning. I had huevos con chorizo and he had chilaquiles; both were outstanding. Always like to support the brown menace and its delicious foodstuffs.

As an observation, just because you can do a thing doesn't mean that you should. Getting hung up on the letter of the law at the expense of the spirit of the law sort of misses the point.

So why do it? Is this improving the quality of the forums and providing a service to the membership? Or is it just bureaucracy for it's own sake?

Read and absorb Kathryn's comments in the links as they pertain to consistency (an expressed bone of contention, recently).

Find those and report them with your rationale, or do the same in-thread here (less effective). Given that things can be missed, the more eyes, the better.

You know. Once you reply to a post, you can click on "my content" and it will pop up if there is a response, no matter what Forum it is in. I am sure most know that, but I thought I would point it out just in case. 90% of the time i come here, I click on my name in the top right corner, then my content on the drop down box.

Can I jump back onto the deep fryer topic?

I really enjoy cooking egg rolls in the deep fryer.

Ours doesn't look as fancy as that one, though.

Also made a ton of fresh cut fries.

MMMMMMMMM deep fried goodness sounds so good.

Deep Fat fry an Egg. You serious ? I have never tried that but think I will. Thanks

P.S. Nice handle

I did a scotch egg in there once.

That was quite interesting.

PS: People said I was mean, so I just went with it.

I had to look up Scotch Egg. That rocks. I am so going to try that. That looks like it might be something rednecks would love.
