So, it's speaking the truth when calling someone a loony lefty, but if someone questions your reading comprehension or God forbid, compares you to another member who does the exact same thing, it's an insult.

She did.

You libruls agreeing with her is what threw me, just when I think I got you long haired hippies figured out, you throw me a curve.

Becuse when they passed Arizona SB 1070, so they could take care of it, instead of relying on the Nanny state, they were sued and blocked in Federal court by Obama's justice dept. I guess Obama found, actually deporting and refusing entry to illegals distasteful.

There is your answer .

Thanks for making my point. These immigration laws passed by the states have no teeth, one way or another. They make good swill for the unaware constituents though.

Marvin, instead of spending your time looking for (often nonexistent) inconsistencies in people's postings, it would be better for you to address the issues. You haven't even given your opinion on letting illegals vote and attain some form of state "citizenship". That is what we should be debating -- and what I am interested in. But since you made two statements, I must grudgingly respond.

FYI I am calling local politicians out on this, not a poster on this site. A huge difference.

Additionally, it is a safe bet that an out-of-stater like you has no idea who these people (the politicians) are that we are discussing.

Don't you think that giving these people rights - such as voting - normally reserved for citizens (or in some cases for legal permanent residents) would be considered significant? Changes like that certainly have an impact, like it or not.

Changes like that would have and impact if they were ever turned into enforceable laws. Be it NY, TX, AZ or AL; none of these states can legislate on immigration. I think it is as ludicrous for NY state to enact a law about 'state citizenship' as it is for AL or TX to enact laws that suggest they might be taking care of illegal immigrants within their state borders.

Yes I agree it is ludicrous to attempt to enact "state citizenship". That is just grandstanding by pandering politicians that have certain constituencies.

And there could be no effect on immigration policies, but local government can grant enormous rights to illegals once they are here. Rights such as voting certainly can lead to skewed election results, and encourage even more illegal immigration. This in turn can cause ripples that further affect law and policy locally, and could potentially spread.

And the hits keep coming.

I don't think illegals should be able to vote before gaining their citizenship. See, I can do that without insulting you.

Many local elections are won and lost by a few points. One community I know of had collage students vote on the school budget. None of the students I believe payed any property taxes yet they decided the outcome of a very large jump in the tax rate dealing with the tax base. This settling of undocumented democrats in certain communities is not a random act. ... All planned in dealing with the political makeup of an area.

Why don't the Republicans fight to stop it, or are they afraid to lose votes? You belong to a hypocritical party too, just like the Democrats. All talk, no action while the country falls apart. Placing blame is far more important to some instead of resolving the issues. Will you do your part with your vote or will you follow the party line like the sheep do on both sides?

Spook you know NY city is a liberal town.... There are no votes in NY city to fight this....Just make them undocumented democrat voters....As I understand in NY state It will be tough to fight this on a state wide basis.

Anyone want to lay money or odds on Obama's justice dept suing to block this, like they did in states wanting defend their borders from the invasion of illegal aliens ?

If you pass a law allowing undocumented democrats the right to vote perhaps sway local and state elections... IE) change the makeup in the state senate for example... this law has no teeth? Or you don't consider this an immigration law ..Allowing undocumented democrats voting rights.
