I think the worse I saw was a guy shaving while driving!

PS, I saw that in my rear view mirror this morning! shaving while driving, the guy was looking in his rear view the whole time he was doing it. scary!!

my mum almost lost her life about 20 years ago, a girl putting on her lipstick ran a red light, hit my mom (t-boned) spun her car around, she got hit 3 different directions.

ONLY THING that saved her life was she was sporting a big ole station wagon at the time, lots of car to smoosh. Had she been in a compact, that woulda been it.

In Connecticut it's illegal now to do that (you have to use a headset); I don't know where else. Though I think you're almost as distracted with a headset as without; either way you're focusing on a conversation rather than the road.

Did anyone ever see that Mr Bean episode (Rowan Atkinson) where he is in his car driving getting dressed, brushing his teeth etc on the way to the dentist I think it was......hillarious.

But to do that for real, put makeup on, pluck eyebrows etc....one deserves to be booked. I used to see the same girl travelling on a country road doing 80mph putting her makeup on in the rear view mirror....used to make me cringe everytime I'd see her.

A week or so ago there was a story on the radio about a guy who got himself arrested in LA for watching a pornographic movie in his car. Apparently other motorists could see the screen from their cars, and they noticed him driving erratically

Amazes me the risks people take with other people's safety. If people seriously don't think that yapping on the phone poses a risk to traffic safety, pehaps the DMV should start administering the behind the wheel and written driving tests simultaneously - have people answer multiple choice questions over the phone while trying to follow the examiners instructions. Bet you their failure rate would go right up!

I lived in a small town once and there was a accident where I guy ran into a telegraph pole. His g/f had been giving him *cough* and he apparently lost control right at the critical moment. He went off with a bang alright. Luckily there was no innocent people involved.

What else can't we do in a car?:(

I had a friend that would read a paperback book to pass the time. He held it on the steering wheel. No joke.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I have a bluetooth headset, but I don't remember to use it all the time. I'm the one on the phone every morning on my way to work talking to my best friend on HER way to work :P

But I think cell phones should be banned while driving, no bluetooth, not hands free, nothing. To many accidents happen because of the idiots on the cell phones

what is the difference between having a conversation with someone on a headset and having a conversation with someone sitting next to you? not much if you ask me. I'm more distracted with my hubby and kids in the car talking to me than I am with a convo in my ear. Should we ban passengers as well? *shrugs* just my opinion.

You may think there is not difference but studies have been done that while talking on the phone the distratction level is over 100% more than talking to someone in the car. If I still have it on my computer at home I will list the reference that states this fact that I used in a paper on just this subject.
