I received my NOA2 hard copy and I am ready to start bugging the NVC starting this coming Monday for our case number. I have read the Wikki's on this website and I am ready. I also was reading this link...http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/approved/contact.html

It is talking about enrolling for email correspondence. I am confused with the electronic processing etc. Is this a good idea to enroll for email correspondence? I believe I am not eligible for electronic processing...my wife is in Manila PH

Usually after the NOA2 issuance, it takes NVC couple of weeks to get your package from USCIS service center and then enter it into their system. Until that happens, you can't do much. So on day 10 after NOA2, keep calling NVC. Use auto response thing, enter your USCIS case number. You will keep getting case not found message.

Until one day, it will give you your NVC case number. As soon as you get your NVC case number, hang up. Call again. Get live person. Give them your email address and give them your spouse's email address. Ask them to send all correspondence through email. This will cut down on any form send by NVC to anyone taking time through the snail mail.

On the same call, try to get the invoice identification number. As soon as you have NVC case number and Invoice Identification Number, you can log into CEAC website to make choice of agent selection, and pay your Sponsorship and Immigration VISA fee.

The best thing you can do now is make sure you got all or your supporting document in order for NVC. Like tax returns, tax transcripts, birth certificates, police and marriage certificates, etc. Maybe you have all of this already. If you do, sweet on you. Hope my posts helps you and doesn't confuse you. If you are confused, reply back. I'll try to clear things up.

10 days from recieving letter or email for NOA2? We have all of our documents except I have not filed taxes this year becuase I am waiting to get my daughters CRBA completed so I can claim her as a dependant. I am thinking about only sending a W-2 for last year and a statement of service because I am in the miliitary. Thanks for your help and quick reply.

10 days is a just a basic rule of thumb. In my wife's immigration case, it took 21 days. Most people say wait two weeks and call. Call before a week is waste of time. Because usually USCIS and NVC doesn't move that fast. Waiting a week or so and calling is good. Since you only need to use the automated service and usually doesn't take too long to get the auto service, you can call anytime after getting NOA2.

It's been a while since I called NVC. Not sure what is their wait times are now to get a person or to get the automated service. Just call once today and sort of find out what's the wait time. Wouldn't hurt.

Electronic Processing and corresponding by email are two totally different things. Go ahead and enroll for email correspondence if that is your preferred method of communication.
