hello everyone,

thank you in advance for your time and your help!

i just started working on assembling documents for my AOS and i have one initial concern. i came to the states 3.5 years ago on an F-1 visa and have extended my stay here by going to school and renewing my I-20 form all until now. my last I-20 form expires in a month and im concerned that i will not be able to get my application ready in that time. is that really imporant, will it make a significant difference if i send my package while the I-20 is still valid, or would it not matter so much if i send it a couple of weeks later? as i understand it i have 60 days of allowed stay in the country after my I-20 expires so my stay would be legal until i am ready to submit the application, and once i send the documents im allowed to stay as well while i am in the AOS process.

i got married only a month ago and started living with my husband and using a joint banc account a couple of months ago, so i need some time to assemble some bills and other proof of living togehter and would not like to rush the application, but my I-20 is about to expire and i dont want to pay for another year of school just to extend it for that purpose! we are both young and we still dont have any kind of insurance together so im planning on sending our utilities bills that we pay together, marriage certificate, some subscriptions and a joint account banc statement, along with a selection of pictures as the proof of bona fide marriage. i will of course try to do it all as soon as possible but would also like to take my time and do it all properly if it doenst make a significant difference to apply at a date when the I-20 has been terminated.

i hope this was clear enough, i would really appreciate any thoughts on the matter!

thank you!
