Hi! Im filipino 17y/o turning 18 this july17. My sched is this coming august and i want tips to pass the interview. Does my guardian needs to accompany me while interviewing?

I stopped studying for a while just in case I pass the interview since being absentjust for 1 day in my course and school means alot and theyre very strict when it comes to attendance, my class is mon-sat 7am-7pm so i have no extra time. So I stopped studying for a while cause being absent is necessary when preparing my files for the interview. Im planning to continue my studies next sem if they didnt approve my visa.

Im saying this cause im afraid that they might ask if im studying or not and im afraid they might reject me cause im not studying.

I really wish they approve my visa. Its my only birthday wish.

Its appreciated if you post your experience here as a minor including the questions the officer asked you. It's also fine if you dont want, I just wanna know the possible questions are they going to ask for minors.

Im saying this cause im afraid that they might ask if im studying or not and im afraid they might reject me cause im not studying. The embassy doesn't care if you're studying or not.

It's also fine if you dont want, I just wanna know the possible questions are they going to ask for minors. Possible questions might be: who petitioned for you, where does the petitioner live in the US, when did you last see your petitioner (petitioner's last visit to the Philippines). Don't worry too much because the embassy doesn't "grill" children during the interview. ;)

Also bring photos of you and your petitioner together, taken on different dates and occasions.

It might help to bring a CENOMAR, since you will be 18yo on your interview day.

Good luck.

Hello,

Were you petitioned by a biological parent or stepparent? In the case of a biological parent there is really nothing to prove other than your blood relationship, which is verified with your birth certificate.

In the case of a stepparent, you may be asked a few questions about your stepparent.

Your going to school or not has nothing to do with your visa process, so don't worry about that. Also since you are 18 you would have to follow whatever requirements the embassy has for 18 year olds. For example, in my country they require a national ID card to be presented at the interview as well as police certificates.

This does not constitute legal advice.

Yes, I am petitioned by my biological mother.

My sister said that CENOMAR is not necessary in F2A class but she's not sure about it so I'm confused.

So should I bring cenomar if Im in F2A class?

~Ill post again After my interview for updates.

It's better for you to get cenomar and bring it with you, all the necessary document you think maybe needed..check your requirements.

Its not that hard to obtain a CENOMAR. In this process its better to come to the interview well prepared.

If the consul demands for a CENOMAR and you don't have it, expect weeks of delay in visa issuance.

If the consul wants to see your CENOMAR and you have it on-hand... no more delays right?

Having the CENOMAR is a win-win situation for you, as well as the other required documents. ;)

Ok so our schedule was yesterday at 6:30. My schedule was supposed to be on november but I wasnt able to attend due to my expired passport so we resched. Everything went well. They didnt ask for my cenomar (tho i bring 2 copies of it just in case). So the american asked me a few questions and our convo only lasted about 2mins. Well i guess youre right that they dont grill children that much. Im a biological son of the petitioner so I guess thats the reason too.

So when the interview's done, she said that everythings good and jut wait for the receiving area to know if i passed or not.

When they called my number, they said that my nbi clearance was already expired so they gave me this delivery form so i can deliver my nbi clearance to them once i have it on hand. Ill get my nbi on august 18 so im planning to deliver it once i have it.

Im not sure if my visa is approved or not, is it already approved if they let me deliver the nbi to them? I havent committed any crimes so i guess my nbi is clear. Its better to be 1 week delayed than rejected. Am i passed in that case?

I guess u passed. Congratz! How many officers did interview you?

Yes. Biological children are hardly questioned since there are very little instances of fraud. It definitely sounds like you were approved, pending the submission of the paperwork that was expired. Congratulations!
