Entering USA at last moment? (split)

After such a long process...and NOT wanting to screw up entry to USA, however, also wanting to make it easier in the future (i.e. having an immediate IR-1 visa not messing around with CR-1)...

What are the risks of waiting to enter the USA 5 months to let the 2-year marriage anniversary pass?

Entering after 5 months is absolutely fine; people need time to tie up loose ends, that is why you are given 6 months. I would recommend planning to enter a few days before the expiry of the visa, in case there are travel delays.

OP, waiting 5mths to enter is ok, because people have things to put in place right in home country emigranting.

It all depends on individual plans and make sure not to cut it close to the visa validity time b4 you enter.

Best of luck!

You want to give at least a some buffer between you point of entry and visa expiration. For God's sake check the visa expiration date. Don't risk it by cutting it too close. But if you have 6 months visa period and you enter USA at month five, you still have a month of buffer. That should be okay. But again, check the expiration date. Don't mess up understanding it.
