G-325A Addresses and jobs

While filling out the G-325A form, My fiancee and I realized that it would be extremely difficult for us to list down our RESIDENCES in the past 5 years, since we have both traveled/moved extensively in the past 5 years. We're both relatively fresh college graduates (i'm 23,she's 26) so we've done our share of moving back and forth from dorms and parents home, as well as studying abroad. What we need to know is whether or not we need to put down our ACTUAL residence of where we were LIVING at the time (i.e. I traveled to XXXX to study and travel for X months/years) or can we use our PERMANENT address that we have our mail sent to (i.e. parent's address). my fiancee has spent a lot of time in the past 5 years traveling after she graduated college, so for a period of time, she didn't have an actual residence, since she was constantly moving.

Also, do part-time jobs count if they were worked at for less than a month ?

And its going to be very difficult for my fiancee to find the addresses of her previous employers, because some of them have gone bankrupt in the past 5 years! How important is it to list EVERY single part-time job we've had?

thanks for any input !

Same situation. I listed my permanent address and then put my college address and one of my abroad addresses, but I dont have one for my other study abroad program, so I didnt put that down. For work I just have a ALOT of different positions and a LOT of unemployed/students :-D

I am in the almost exact same position so I'd also benefit from a nice answer :)

I graduated from college in 2004 and understand exactly what you're going through. I did write down every apartment I lived in, country I studied/worked abroad in, and even when I lived back at my parent's for 2 months before I was hired for my current job.

Do your best - that's what I can say.

I'd also put down all your employers too. The gov't will do a background check and although I don't know how they do it/what it entails, I'd be as honest as I could be. Plus, you'll send your W2s to the consulate once your fiance is approved.

My fiance also had a hard time thinking back to jobs he had up to 10 years ago so we did the best we could with the month start/end dates.

Good luck.

For job history, Unemployment Insurance had a pretty long list for my history, as I recall. But now things have surely changed and I probably couldn't even talk to a human. But a jobs history could jog memories of housing/cities.

Tax returns and IRS is another idea. Do you have your old W2's?

for the past 2-1/2 years i've been traveling all over the world also. what i decided to put (and someone tell me if this is bad) is my parents address for the period while i was traveling. so i put my permanent address that is on my drivers license in that period....... and another address i simply cannot remember the street number so i might just leave it blank and attach a sheet saying i have no record of this and no way to obtain it. .......im still lost on what to do about that. or i thought of using my friends address. i still have a few weeks to decide what to do about this one.

as far as jobs that were under a month (i had this situation too) i'm going to leave them off. hopefully nothing will happen.

Thanks for everyone's input. its also nice to know that there are others out there that are in the same predicament! i'm not alone !

I am beginning to lean towards the idea that the permanent address (what is listed on your driver's license for example) is probably the best choice if there's been a lot of travel. I'm not entirely sure yet, and I'm hoping that I can clear it up soon with my aunt (she used to work in the US embassy here in Korea... hopefully she has some advice/friends that would be able to answer this question!)

I'm also thinking that the best way to write down jobs, is to consider which jobs we were taxes for/had to file taxes. I know i've had a few "jobs" that were more in line with babysitting/tutoring in the sense that it was "under the table" since I was obviously not making a living off it! (still a student at that time!) But does anyone have any clear answer of whether this definition would stand up against the US government's eyes?
