I think I probably asked this before, but here goes again lol, I have my SS card - now can I get my name changed on it to my married name - even though I havent got my AOS approved (we have the interview for this 6th Feb) Im just wondering if I can or should get my married name on my SS card before we go to the Interview :) got the EAD approved today tho! very nervous about interview ! :P:P

Wait until after you get green card, then get it changed, that way you can change name and remove the disclaimer on the SS card that says "Valid With Work Authorization Only" at same time.

Well, we moved house when they sent an RFE for the AOS, we never got that letter, and it took 4/5 months to eventually get the RFE letter - got that at Xmas, submitted more evidence and then got the EAD approval via email today.

I never had experienced about EAD thing, bcos ive got approved in my EAD but never got the card in mail even UNTIL NOW, i received my greencard earlier than EAD.

But if i'm not mistaken, you could go back to SSA to change name your SScard and make it valid for work already ... BUT be sure to wait the EAD card to received it by mail. You use the EAD card for your SScard change name and authorization for work.

We had to wait until we had something offical from the USCIS, social security wouldn't accept the marriage certificate. We used the EAD and it took about six weeks from filing to get the new card in the mail. Good luck :thumbs:
