Hi VJ family!

I have been waiting for Packet 3 for more than a month now. Can I schedule the ASC & Consulate appointment online before receiving it? The Visa status at the Consular Electronic Application Center is "ready for interview when scheduled..."

Thanks!

Carlos

There is no actual packet. Juarez just sends a letter. The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You do not have to wait for the letter to begin filling out forms and scheduling appointments. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-160. if you do not receive it before going to Juarez, you can get the letter printed out from the information window at the consulate before going to your medical and appointments.

How to apply: https://mx.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/how-to-apply/ , K-1 'packet/invitation' letter (very important to follow and explains a lot): http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/k1_k4_oct2014.pdf

instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf,

schedule appointments: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv/ , and

CDJ info: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

While waiting, you can read through the reviews to see how the procedure works and what documents were needed by others applying for a K-1: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Mexico&cty=&dfilter=5

Heey thanks to both for your answers ;) Just letting you know that my fiancee in the US received the invitation letter. We had to call the consulate to ask for a status and even them don't provide accurate information. They said that the NVC was supposed to send us the instructions to schedule the appointments, so I went ahead and called the NVC and they said that the consulate had sent the letter since june 6th. but we never received it. They sent another on July 18th and took one week to arrive.

You somehow have to wait for the letter to schedule the appointments because if the letter is delayed like ours you will end up loosing your appointments. Thanks for the links, we actually have gone through the process over and over again but like everybody here is frustrating not knowing anything about your case and have nothing to do about it.

Regards!

Carlos

Glad you finally received it.

Yes, they are a call center, and give out misinformation when you call them. As I said though, you do not have to wait for the letter to fill out the DS-160, pay the fees and schedule the appointments. If the letter still had not arrived by the time you had to go to Juarez, then you could get one printed out at the consulate before going to the ASC appointment, medical and interview.

Hello!

I know you just answer the same question, I hope you don't mind I am asking again to be 100% sure.

Our case is now "in transit" according to the CEAC website, once it shows "ready" I am planning on calling the consulate, fill out the forms, pay the fee and schedule the interview.

I am concerned about not receiving the invitation letter in my house because when we filled out the paperwork there was an omission in my address (I didn't add East after the street number, and then I realized the street I live in also has that number but on the west side of town) ... So I want to know if this will be a problem, If I should call them and correct the address or if that delays the process I could go, find out who lives there and beg them to please receive the letter for me.

Sorry If my questions are a little silly  ... I hope you can help

Philippians 4: 6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Hi!

What about the NOA's? did you receive them in your house?

At this point I don't know if it would be useful to notify a change in your address, but you can do what KayDeeCee says, to get the letter printed at the Consulate before the appointments once your status is "Ready", you definitely need that letter. In my case I didn't do that because there is an ASC in the city I live, I and I couldn't make an extra trip to Juarez just to get the letter.

I don't recommend calling the consulate, because it is not even the consulate, it is a call center, and the few times I called they didn't help at all.

Good luck!

It should be sent to the USC petitioner and the beneficiary. You can use a copy of either letter that happens to arrive. If you still do not have a copy of the letter when you need to go to Juarez for everything, then go early to the consulate the morning before you do anything else and ask that you get a copy of your letter printed out because you never received it and need it to go to your appointments.

would this apply for a cr-1/ir-1 visa also? Everything is ready for me at embassy, I just need to schedule the interview, and I know they sent letter last thursday.

Or should I just sit tight and wait another week?
