Aha, now the confusion can be cleared up. You're not "illegal," you're out of status. No biggie, since you've applied for an adjustment of status. Some people find this objectionable, but I don't. It's perfectly legal and for some people (I assume you amongst them) it is the correct thing to do. Best of luck on speedy processing of your I-130. :)

last i read, the OP had only applied for the I-130, and not the I-485 as they were facing financial difficulties. Hence, their status is currently "illegal" as they are past their I-94 expiry date.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

Financial difficulties, that seems odd bearing in mind this thread.

I left from the international side. You can argue it all you want. I'm not here to convince you, I'm here to tell my experience.

It is a fact that Hawaii is a state and not an international flight. You are the one that keeps arguing that it was. Did you have to go through immigration and show your passport and visa or other documentation to prove your eligibility to enter the US when you entered Hawaii or re-entered California?

You are sharing that you are here, overstayed your I-94 and have not filed for AOS, just an I-130. You are out of status and accruing unlawful presence. You took a trip to Hawaii and were not stopped because you took domestic flights and did not go through customs/immigration. You knew all that though when people answered about it in the other thread you posted before taking the trip.
