I like it when inmates kill a child molester. One less child molester to worry about. People should fear going to prison.

People should also fear hiring illegals. There needs to be consequences and fear for those who enter the US illegally.

Child molesting is considered the lowest form of crime, amongst criminals, so that ought to give you an idea how bad it is. I say, arrest the offender and put him in general population.

So. You think the US criminal justice system is a waste of time. Just shove everyone who is convicted of a crime in jail and let the inmates tear each other alart? That strikes you as normal and a good way to combat crime?

I think there's a case to make here that if you think it's justifiable for prisoners to rape and kill each other in jail that you are somewhat complicit in it.

It's your justice system and it's supposed to better than the corrupt medieval systems in places like Iran or North Korea.

No I don't, but I can't help replying in an emotional manner when it comes to child abuse. Luckily I am not tasked to make such a call, for I would have to recuse myself.

Of course I understand that the idea of a child molester is extremely emotive, necessarily so, but I do not think that is an excuse to dispense with reason The more difficult the crime the harder we need to try to keep a grip on what justice means and how it is best served. I have to say that I personally derive no satisfaction from the idea of criminals engaging in vigilante justice. It seems just wrong to dispose of a problem by letting criminals act in a barbaric fashion to achieve justice. That makes no sense to me but I do understand that for some people there is no adequate way to express their disapproval of the behaviour so they talk in this way.

I have a good friend who is a PHD therapist. She says in most cases child molester recidivism is all most guaranteed . That is what they are attracted to and it's very hard to change they. About the same is un-gaying someone. So if they get done in by the Prison population so be it .

Disclaimer-I was not comparing being gay to being a child molester only pointing out it's hard to change someones sexuality.

Why not? They are both genetic defects and their sexuality is hardwired.

The main difference, of coarse, is that homos have sex with consenting adults.

Well at least you admit that homosexuality is genetic and that most are born that way . I will take that as a victory and move on

So they are all non-consenting adults?

I learn something everyday :dancing:

No. There is currently no definitive evidence that sexuality is define solely by a person's genes. Genetics does have something to do with it, but it's also got a lot to do with social and environmental factors.

It's easier to assume it's genetics because the alternative is too complicated for people to deal with. That doesn't mean it's a choice either, but it's wrong to say genes make people gay. There is more to it.

The same reasoning also applies to sex offenders. It's doubtful anyone is born with the desire to abuse children, rather it's likely that pedophiles were abused themselves as children, for instance.
