I have a infopass scheduled for monday morning. My aim to get an expedited oath ceremony arranged. I have been offered a job that requires clearance and the date I need to be able to start by is 7/21/14. I plan on taking the offer letter and try to explain the circumstances to the officer.

Questions:

1. what are the chances of them being sympathetic to my situation?

2. what should my approach be with the officer(what would be a good way to word my request)?

3. Should I also put my request in writing?

if I were you I would write a letter and keep it with you, if you find the agent is not that helpful then ask the agent to forward the expedite request letter along with offer letter to the officer who is handling your case. hopefully , it will work. if you see nothing happened you can go to your congressman office and let them contact your field office. Hopefully, one of these solution will work.

Please, report back the outcome and best of luck

Can you bring a letter of employment that says pending clearance? That may help. I think that they will try to accommodate you especially if there is an oath coming up anyway. Be as polite as possible :) Goodluck!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

yes I got the offer letter and like the other person said I will also type up a letter to pass on to the adjudicating officer if the person behind the window isnt being helpful. I do plan to be very polite, because they have been on time with the case so far, if it wasn't for the fear of losing out on the job I would be pretty relaxed right now, but this has been the first good offer in over 6months of job search, I cant afford to wait 6 more months for another one. Thanks guys I will keep you all posted.
