I talked to a woman that is from the agency in Ukraine about whether men send debit cards. she wrote in a way that it was almost stupid to ask because of course they do. She said just "You need to take some newspaper or advertisement magazine, and put the envelope with the card there, carefuly hidden inside:)"

so. .. is it that easy?

i am sending my package of things to her via USPS int'l priority mail.

If I send her the card it is a $5 charge from my bank for the ATM use only.

That sounds soooo risky...why not send an international money order or cheque? May I ask why you are mailing a debit card?

BTW they will charge you an atm fee (unless you used an atm from your bank's approved list of foreign banks) and many other bank fees for currency conversion too so it'll cost more than you think!

i send her money every month and I have to send thru western union. the fee i have to pay for the atm use is a fee from my bank which is $5. the bank with the ATM machine near her work doesn't charge anything for using it. so .. just $5 each month.

Doesn't charge anything for using it with the approved card probably.

If not, then that's really weird.

Idk why people would think it's risky.

How do you think the bank got the card to you in the first place lol.

I assume you are getting her OWN card in her OWN name, right?

I would order a new one and do like my bank does.

Send her the card unactivated.

Then you can tell her over the phone what the activation pin is so she can activate it and make her new pin.

My bank actually sends my pin separately in the mail, but obviously there's no reason for that with you.

It's obviously LESS risky sending an unactivated card in the mail.

there would be a charge for POS purchases yes, but the only purpose for her is to go to the ATM and take out grivanos. (spelling???) the bank across from her work is a german bank and i turned around to talk to her while getting cash and the machine didn't put the card out for very long and missed it. we talked to them and when the came to do maintenance... refill cash etc, the got my card for me. she was shocked. she had this happen to other clients and ..they were screwed and to find another way to get some money. After this I would only use their machine in her city (zaporo. UA) also they did not charge me for making withdraws from they ATM. very cool! wells fargo still would charge the 5.00.

its quite different there. she gets paid once a month and its through an evnelope of cash. i couldnt' believe when she told me that.

i will mail it to her. if its not there when she gets the package. i'll call and report it missing.

no it does not have her name on it. she's not on my account. I can't add her without a SS# and that's obviously not gonna happen.

What would you do w/o a debit card?

You can't have 2 in the same name...

Not to mention if your bank sees you doin things in the US AND in another country.........
