Hi guys.....long story short, fiance and I got approved for the k1 visa on April 18th and we haven't heard anything bout our petition ever since.............we have called and emailed USCIS and NVC, contacted the Obudsman (sp?) and all that.......................so anyway fiance got a letter saying "thank you for your inquiry. The California Service Center has no longer jurisdiction over this petition. This case was approved and has been forwarded to the National Visa Center..."and

and they gave us a referral ID number.........................

so at first i thought that this was sent to us letting us know that things are getting done bout our petition...but then i read it again and realized it is an "inquiry"...and i've sent one out about 2 weeks ago...or less....so that is what it is, right??? cause people don't usually get letters like this, right? Just ones informing them that the case has been received by the NVC...am i right or not???

Anyway, idk what this means......i have two theories.....one is that our petition has been FOREVER now stuck at the NVC..............and they cant find it

or that the CSC just recently mailed our case to the NVC...what do u think? im so furious!!!!!

Well you contacted the Senator, the Obudsman and the USCIS. Try to give the Congressman a call. I heard good things from them. Maybe they can tell you where your petition is?

That's the typical, generic reply that everybody gets from CSC. Are you still in limbo since your last post a month ago? If I recall, you had contacted both CSC and NVC with no answer as to where your petition was.

yeah still havent heard nothing and still the petition isnt at NVC, and if it is, its not in their system so they say its not there....

nobody can tell me where our petition is! but doesnt this letter state than the CSC HAS DEFINITELY SENT IT OUT to NVC???

so we should be only bugging the nvc now right...

I did a search here on VJ for the same problem as yours. This has happened to others in the past, would appear your petition has been mistakenly sent to the NRC(National Records Center). Read here:

There are Kirk and Durbin in Illinois.

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=IL

Sign the privacy release so they can make an inquiry on your behalf.

Fax a copy of your NOA2 to them, tell them NVC claims it does not have your case and USCIS says they send it, it appears to be lost.

Call NVC early in the morning around 6am, best time to get through, ask for a supervisor.
They send my case to the wrong consulate and I am currently trying to get it transferred. NVC actually told me that

DOS told them to send all Cyprus cases to Turkey. I told her no that was false, she got an attitude and insisted she was correct.

I then asked for a supervisor who said they will transfer it to the right consulate.
I used Durbin years ago when we were in long AP and denied, his immi aide Mark was quick and efficient with inquiries.

I live about one hour south from you.
