U need to apply for a report of birth, passport and social security number for your baby. All information is on us embassy website. There is quite many rules on this. If your wife is in her home country you need to fill out documents in front of a notary and then send all papers to her and she need to book appointment on the us embassy in her country where she bring all papers. You should find all info and links to documents on embassy website. You can also email them and ask. I'm in the process of that as we speak:) but we are not yet married. You need to hurry up a bit since they won't process anything until your wife had the interview. Then it takes 2-4 weeks for your baby to get passport.

Good luck

Apply for a CRBA. If you don't meet the physical presence requirements, you can add your child to your wifes petition.

Incorrect, if the OP is unable to file for a CRBA, then he will have to file a new petition for his daughter. Spousal visa petitions do not have provisions for derivative beneficiaries.

You're right, I got it mixed up. http://dublin.usembassy.gov/faqs_immigration.html#question15

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

Book a interview at once then you take your daughter to embassy with all papers. Make sure you read all info and instructions. You need 2 American size passport photo. And proof u are American citizen and other thing... Better you go to embassy since you are the American citizen.

My daughter was born after my wifes petition was approved but before she got ther visa so we had to apply for her CRBA.The embassy should have requirements on the webpage. The embassy in our case required both parents be there for the appointment.First they review the documents of the citizen parent to see if they meet the requirements.I had taken in my social security statement which can be obtained from their website, copioes of my military records and a letter from mjy US employer whom I have been employed with over 10 years. The consular officer looked at it and smiled and said "you definitely meet the physical presence requirements"Then he said it was approved.Once it is approved they go through the US passport application for the child. Then they will give you a date when the passport will be ready. In our case they told us 2-4 weeks but 8 days later I got an email from the embassy saying my daughters US passport was ready for pickup. So in my case it took 30 mins for the CRBA and childs passport application and we had her passport 8 days later

Oct 1st 2012 - Mailed I-130 package to Phoenix
Oct 3rd 2012 - Package delivered
Oct 9th 2012 - NOA 1
Dec 12th 2012 -Case finally visible on USCIS website as initial review
Jan 31st 2013 -Emailed ncsc-customerconnect@uscis.dhs.gov
Feb 6th 2013 - Response that my case was tranferred to the local Jacksonville field office on Nov 19th 2012
Apr 2nd 2013 - Infopass. Found out that there was an RFE dated Dec 19th that I never received.USCIS website never reflected that either.Got a copy of the RFE .Time to make another infopass to drop documents off at local Jacksonville office.

Apr 29th 2013- Dropped off RFE documents at local office

May 7th 2013- Got text that petition was approved.
