I was reading somebody else's post and I am still very concerned about AOS from F1.

My partner and I have been together for 5 years , I came on a F1 visa knowing that I will be living with him (I didn't tell this to visa officer or immigration guys at border ). However , I maintained my status , never overstayed . Renewed my visa once .

We had our pre honey moon in Israel last December ,I returned with F1 visa . (IO didn't ask me anything at JFK , stamped my passport without even asking for i20). We got married in April and filed for AOS. So my concern is that , upon my last entry to the US, I knew I would get married and apply for AOS, could that be a problem ? I couldn't have waited in my home country for a K visa since I had to return and finish my school in the spring.

Anybody with F1 visa had the same experience ?

i did my AOS from an F1 visa, and the only thing they cared about during the interview was whether or not my marriage was bona fide. if it makes you feel better, here's my interview transcript, they really just care about the relationship.

i mean, think about it, why would they care why you wanted to pick up an F1 visa at this point in the immigration process, when you're about to drop your F1 visa?
