I guess when they are younger they adapt to the day to day living fairly easily or at least that's my experience.

Of course, there is always the problem of leaving behind the 'other' parent behind if you are the party moving.

For the child who is used to frequent access visits, I expect that can be really tough. If the child only had one or two access visits a year, then there is less adjustment to be made especially if the access visits carry on as before.

On the whole, I have had positive feedback from my offspring to the move, although it's not unqualified.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Anna has been surprisingly great about this. She thinks its way cool that Joel is from Canada. We (my daughter and I) talked a lot about where Joel is from and how much he loves us. We discussed the marriage and what that would mean. She did ask me what she was to call Joel. I told her it was up to her. At first she decided to call him Joel, now she calls him Daddy. My ex knows she loves Joel and he (the ex) has tried to thwart this by telling her that Joel is (fill in the blank). Jealousy? Feels threatened? I'm sure it's some of both. Fortunately Anna doesn't listen to much of what her bio dad says...she knows who loves her - she says so quite frequently. :luv:
