Hi, I don't know if I'm in the right forum but I hope you can help me.

I came in US with K-1 Fiance Visa. Married now and got my (2 years conditional) greencard. The questions I want to ask are about renewing my Philippine Passport that will expire on November 2014. We are close to Washington DC so, we will apply there.

Here are the questions:

- How much time I need to apply in DC? Will it take only one day or so? We will be traveling so I want to know how long we need to spend there.

- I was reading about the renewal of passport requirements here: http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/philippines-dc/consular-services-dc/faq-dc/#changename and the number 5 is confusing. In my status now, am I included on that applicants?

- Do I need to apply for the Report of Marriage (ROM)? Do I need to do this even I'm not changing my name to my new passport?

- The very important one, ALL my documents including the greencard, EA card, SS card and my passport are all printed in my name when I was single. I haven't change anything yet because all my supporting documents are all written in that name and besides once I become US citizen it will all change to my husband's surname and I will no longer Philippine citizen and don't need these. Can I renew my Philippine passport with the same name when I was single? or much better to change it with my married name?

I hope you can help me and Thank you in advance!

I don't know if you can file it on the same day. A friend of mine told me that ROM should be filed first coz that process takes 3 days, she just mailed it at Chicago Phil. General Consulate. Then a week after that, walk in renewal of passport. I'm not sure if the process in Chicago and DC are the same?

Hope that helps :)

Oh really??? Are you going to do the same? Send the request for ROM, I mean? Are you going to change your name to your new passport?

I read that information KrystelKyle and thank you by the way. I was wondering if I need to change my name to my married name or retain my maiden name given the circumstances I mentioned above. Also, that outreach program is very nice and it will be close to us but the question is can they process ROM too or just anything about passport. I hope someone can help me figuring it out.

Thank you!!!
