And this is exactly why I was a bit shocked to be approved in 22 days. My fiancée lives in Singapore, her home is in northern Luzon well away from the region affected by that typhoon. I had my fingers crossed that we'd see a quick approval but was not counting on it.

Exactly. People are just speculating that Philippines are being expedited with no true factual information from the USCIS.

Several have been approved just as quick at TSC ....not from the Philippines.

I did nothing, just applied. My fiancee lives no where near any affected areas as is the case of several others that have been approved.

I (Todd) am the petitioner from the U.S. / Beth is in/from Philippines

You might also consider the sheer volume of applicants from the Philippines compared to other countries.

The percentages are overwhelming. So of course, the percentages on the approval end would be somewhat in proportion . Now THAT is just my humble opinion and in no way factual information and don't claim it to be. :)

lol

Um, it's not speculation. Expedites are still happening. I would like you to show me TSC approvals that fall under 30 days that were not from the Philippines or actual CSC filers that incorrectly show TSC as their service center. There is no way, you or anyone else just happened to get a random approval from TSC when there are ~8000 petitions sitting in front of you...most for several months. Are you saying that you happened to have your paperwork in order and the rest of us have issues with ours which is why we are still waiting? I don't think so. It is pretty obvious even to the casual observer that you were expedited. I said a long time ago, there is no rhyme or reason why they were expediting many from non storm affected areas. It is simply a matter of the interpretation of the instructions by USCIS employees. It was my assertion many just expedited all Philippines petitions on their desk because they thought that was what they were supposed to do. Others took the time to read the instructions and actually determine the location of your fiance's location and rather it fell within the guidelines or not. Consider yourselves lucky in that regard.

Anyway, it really makes no difference one way or the other.

It does, thank you! Do you know if it happens automatically, or does it need to be requested? Just curious, really.

It happens automatically. There may have been some that requested it but the instructions to do so came from the powers that be at USCIS.

Hello everyone waiting for Texas , I understand backlog but why just Texas with California and Vermont going so fast maybe they should distribute the workload . But my big question why does applications for the Philippines go so quick , its like they a fellow countrymen screening applications looking for Philippines to help . I am happy for them but it should be first come first serve across the country...

Vermont is no longer processing K1's...so they are now at TSC which has a delay of somewhere between 5 and 7+ months. CSC is fast as they have been for some time now..just a matter of weeks really for at least the last couple of years anyway. Petitions from the Philippines are expedited.. I dont know whether this is automatic or by request, but there is a huge discrepancy. Anyway.. all the best for all who just want to be with their partners and having been apart from my fiance for 18mths... I just hope things get moving (fast). (F)

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number

Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere, and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
I-129F Sent : Jul 28 2014
TSC received: Aug 04 2014
I-129F NOA1 : Aug 06 2014

:wow::wow::wow:

My NOA1 was issued July 15. I just received the email and text for NOA2 15 minutes ago!!!!!!! My birthday is tomorrow so I would say that it's one hell of the birthday gift from the USCIS!

Wow! How in the world did that happen at Texas Center???? I could see it happening in CA but Texas....consider yourself very lucky!

Oops never mind just saw the fiancee lives in Phillipines......dont think anyone at Texas center looks at where they live in Phillipines but rather just expedites anyone from the country. I can completely understand why filers might be a bit annoyed by this process given the typhoon was almost a year ago and the majority of the expedited Phillipine filers dont live in the area devastated by mother nature. Maybe they will relook at the process given the backlog at TSC??

Congrats to those who managed to get thru so quickly!

I know how you feel. I thought I would get to spend Christmas with my Fiancé too. At this rate being at Texas it doesn't look possible. I will see him in 35 days so that helps a little. I am here to help as much as I can. I wish you both the best of luck!

I know for myself, I am trying not to compare my case with any others as there sometimes seems like no rhyme or reason to the approvals. I also am not planning or counting on any specific date or holiday to be with my fiance. There is just no way to predict it so why get my hopes up. I've read many many horror stories of delays, waiting, AP, RFE's etc. At this point, I'll just be thankful when and if he makes it to the USA. While I think its ridiculous what they make us go through, I understand the reasons and process behind it. Everything happens for a reason, although we may never know why. At this point so early on, I just know I cannot begin to stress out when we have so far to go. I just read apost from one VJer who said she limits herself to logging on once every 2 weeks to limit viewing all the approval posts and further resenting her waiting. That may be a good idea.

Now get back with me after I've been waiting 6-8 mos. I'm sure I'll have something totally different to say lol, but this is my plan!

This.

I don't give a flying rat's hoohaw about anyone else's timeline or my own. Things will happen when they happen. If I worry about someone else's NOA-2 or whether my timeline is updated or whether my case is moving slowly compared to someone else's, I'll drive myself bat-pump crazy.

We've been together for almost four years and we know we have a lifetime ahead of us. We're prepared to deal with each step as it comes.
