we also used a black sign pen when we signed our 'separate' intent to marry letters.

I hope it's an easy RFE. Hang on there. :goofy: Every day that passes gets us closer to reuniting with our loved ones.

Really hope that it's not a difficult RFE. We're in no rush and will have an engagement party on February so won't be leaving before that but it's just a bit disappointing that there's actually something that we missed after checking and checking lol.

My RFE was for missing passport photos attached to the G form.....which I did attach with the petition but they obviously lost! We received the email about RFE on 9/30, hardcopy on 10/3, mailed back on 10/4, email confirmation they received it on 10/5, and now we wait......AGAIN

Hi, I received a text message and email on 10/09/2014 at 7:45pm MST that we have been approved and to check "My Case Status" on the USCIS website. Our NOA2 letter is on its way. What a great feeling. Thanks to those who have been in this position already and your continued encouragement. On to the next steps.

Awesome on the approval.

We got an RFE. So frustrating considering it took us 3 days of checking, double checking, triple checking to make sure we didn't miss anything. I think the problem is because I used a sign-pen and black ink to sign our letter of intent to marry.

Anyhow, just waiting for the letter and we'll hopefully be able to move.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to give us an update after we've sent our required evidence?

Thanks

No the black pen thing should not be a problem and technically per the I-129 instructions unless it specifically says otherwise, copies may be submitted. but you never if the reviewer at USCIS fully read and/or fully understands their own instructions.

My fiancée forgot to sign the letter of intent she mailed me, so I had her sign one scan it and email it to me, we were wandering if we would get an RFE on that one. Never did.

Another form she forgot to date after signing so I filled in the date for her and submitted, no problem there either.

I hope your RFE is an easy one and can be put to bed quickly.

I called the other night a little prematurely (its only been a week), but just could not wait anymore. Anyways I hit redial 159 before getting through and then waited 1 hour to talk to a person, someone else I know called and got through first try but then was on hold for 40 minutes to get a human.

So as stated by others be patient when you call. also they are telling people it takes 25, 35 and 42 days but when they check sometimes they have a new case number for you 15 days after NOA2 and sometimes it is 25 days, I will call every two das until I know they have it and everyday after that until I get a case number.

Some of the NVC people are now telling people to wait 30 days or more from date on your letter before calling, And do not want to look up their cases if they tell them a date of less than 30 days. so if you get someone who wants to know the date, I will tell them a date 30 days ago or more. to make sure they look it up for me. Two can play that game.

It would make their lives, and ours, so much easier if the case numbers were automatically fed into the system to reflect in our USCIS accounts as soon as they were assigned. It can't be that difficult, surely!

We have an 09-25 date. I called Friday and nothing has been received yet. I was told four to five weeks but that's a standard response. I'll all again on Tuesday.

I wouldn't be a d*ck and lie about my approval date, though. That's the kind of thing that can get a call dropped pretty quickly, or at least it would if I was on the other end of the phone. We don't need to make anyone's job more difficult than it already is.

After all, you get more flies with honey.

Posted

its not being d<ck as you said, if the lady had done her job and not refused to look up the USCIS case number, just because it had not been 42 days. Now that is being a D'ck as you say. it is not her decision to say i cannot look it because it has not been 42 days, I spent 40 minutes on ignore to be told no that, No see it was 6 minutes till midnight when she came on the line. She was wanting to clear her call list so she could o home, which I do not blame her for, but she was hired to do a job and she does want to do it then she can quit.

So before being a d'ck and telling someone else they are being one, ask yourself how you would have felt and what you would do. You would say this is ####### people are getting new case number in 10,15, 22 and 26 days. Now if someone wants to be a lazy ### and mess with my life and play games then I will tell them whatever i have to, to get them to look up the case number. and i f i have to lie to them to get them to do their stinking job then that is what i have to do.

I am sure if was you and your fiancées case and you had been basically to go away you would do the exact same thing from now on.

If you really feel that it is wrong then tell you what you do is wait until its 42 days since you got your NOA2 before you call. I know that will never happen.
