Why would they go backwards???

So, Igor's list is based on self-reported timelines. As new people join Visa Journey and add their timelines, it could push existing members forward on the list. For example, we have NOA 1 dates in July. If people with NOA 1 dates before us join the site and/or add a timeline, but have NOA 1 dates which are earlier than ours, it can push us further down the list. I hope that helps and makes sense!

7/17/2014: I-129F sent to Lewisville, TX via USPS express mail

7/18/2014: I-129F delivery confirmation on USPS website

7/23/2014: Bank account shows deposit of filing fee

7/23/2014: USCIS text message and email confirmation of routing to CSC

7/24/2014: Alien Reg # Changed

7/29/2014: Hardcopy NOA1 received

10/16/2014: RFE Text received

10/23/2014: RFE Reply sent

10/27/2014: RFE Reply received

Thanks - that breakdown helps makes the forward and backwards make more sense and helps with some of the frustration. Now, here's my question: Is that ALSO the same reason our Timeline "estimates" keep shifting too? Mine just got pushed back again. :(

I would say it does. I noticed on a search earlier only a couple of approvals today. Those numbers must affect it. If there were a bunch of aprovals posted in one day it may move forward. I have seen mine jump forward ten days and slowly slip back to where it started.

Btw i noticed mine slipped back a couple of days as wells. I just know you can never give up, keep the faith, keep up the hopes and prayers. God hears us even if he does not give us what we ask for when we ask for it. Sometimes we understand why later sometimes it is many many years later when we understand or we may never know

Hey to everyone!

We sent our application out on July 16th and got our NOA1 on July 21st! Our status online has been changed to Initial Review and we are being processed at the Texas Center...

Anyone else feeling like this is taking forever??? I hate being away from my finacee... has anyone thought about having their significant other come visit? We are worried about him getting denied entry ( which would be soul crushing)....

Thoughts & (opinions are welcomed!

I'm in a quite enviable position. My fiance and I live only a six-hour drive apart. We make an effort to see each other at least every three weeks.

We haven't had any problems at the border but we are always at land crossings so it might be different.

There is a thread specifically addressing having fiance's visit during the process so I would check it out! My fiance is visiting next month from UK and I have know others that have visited during the process. I think it is critical to bring information to prove you are returning such as return flight info, job info, bills, apt lease, etc and to be prepared for having to go into the interview room and answer a lot of questions.

Remember what you said about timeline pushing back a couple of days. Well ours pushed back three days just a couple of days ago and today the forecasted dated just pushed out another ten days.

There are days i wish i had come on VJ and these fast timelines i was seeing. Things dragging out even longer are a drag.

Ugh...Yep...Just checked mine after reading your post, and mine is now 10 days later as well. Trying to just keep the faith and trust that the timing will work out as it's meant to be....just so hard. My fiance is hoping to visit in October, and THAT feels too far away, as it will be almost 5 months since I saw him last. I sure wish we were in driving distance like ThatAngela. We've actually even discussed having me move up near Bellingham, Washington and he could transfer to Vancouver. At this rate, it almost seems like that move would happen faster than this whole visa issue!! :(

Yeesh. I guess we're all realistically looking at late January/early February now. When we started this we were really hoping I'd be in WA by Christmas and we could get married on (what we call) our anniversary. We can't really figure out what our "official" anniversary is, because we're kind of all over the place with dates and being unsure whether we would complicate our lives with an LDR. Look where we are now! :)

I guess it does, however, take the pressure off to get the move and all the planning done by NYE. It isn't like we're planning anything big but still ...

EDIT: By "all," of course, I do mean those of us who are filed at CSC. I forget sometimes that I have to be specific here. :D

Hey Bonnie,

I did not mean to pull you down as well. I try to keep the faith and stay busy as well. I worked 8 hrs today, spent 1 1/2 on skype with my fiancee before had to get to sleep l, midnight her time. Then i painted on two rooms for four hours. I do a similar schedule almost everyday to keep my mind and hands occupied.

But at least you are in the same time zone right. My fiancee is seven time zones and sixteen hours of flight time not including to and from airport time, check in and at least one short layover. Minmum travel time if she travels 2 1/2 hrs by bus to meet me at the airport 20 hours. If not 24 hrs by the time i get a rental and drive to her.

I did a search on what months are being approved and actually two CSC from Aug. 2014.

Btw, on timelines did you use the date you received a text / email message for NOA1 or date on your letter. Does not really matter but i am curious which people use.

I was hoping to fly to Israel and have my fiancee here for the holidays. : )

But : ( I have been trying to break it to her it may not happen and we will be seperated again this year for the holidays. :' ( Oh well it could change tomorrow or the next day for a few or some of us and if God decides for it to happen we could be united yet this year. I have seen a couple on here go completely through in two months. Once it gets rolling again it can go fast or it can go slow.

Please don't feel like you "pulled me down" with your post. I am a glutton for punishment and I check it more often than I probably should. We had sooooo hoped to be together for Christmas, and I know many others did hope for reunions in time for the holidays. This is so difficult for everyone. It makes me frustrated and ANGRY. Seriously, I know the government runs slowly, but TWO approvals in August? I hope that's not really how slow they're moving.

As far as time zones, YIKES! You two are so FAR away. I can't imagine being that far away, and the time difference must make it incredibly different to find time to talk/Skype. :clock: My fiance is currently an hour ahead, and sometimes we whine about that...NO more whining for us...I will count my blessings instead. Hang in there.

On the timeline we used the date on the letter (it was actually a day earlier than we got the text).

Lets continue to keep thinking positive and hoping for the best (while preparing for the possible realities).

What i meant about two august approvals, was..

Is that so far there have been two petitions/ applications that were filed in the month of august that have been approved.

Not just a total of two petitions approved in the month of august.

Does that make more sense.
