Hi all, I am brand new to being a member on this forum but have spent lots of time over the past 8 months looking through information which has helped us grately in our quest for a K-1 visa, so first of all, thank you for that!

Now, I just wanted to ask a few last minute questions in regards to the Affidavit of Support form I-134 & supporting evidence before I attend my scheduled K1 visa interview in London next week.

My fiancee has no income from the past year due to taking time out to travel, therefore she has no Tax returns or letter of employment. We do have her bank account statements showing some finances in her account but obviously this does not meet the requirements of the 2014 poverty guideline/does not provide adiquate support for us on the I-134 form. We do however, have a co-sponsor; my fiancee's auntie who has completed an I-134 and supplied us with a letter from her employer stating her income, role, date employment started etc. She earns well over the poverty guideline to cover all of us.

My main question is... is this enough for us to show at the interview? Or is more required?

To summerise, we have:

- I-134 completed by my fiancee + bank account statements showing finances over the past year and current balance/date account opened.

- I-134 completed by my fiancee's auntie (co-sponsor) + letter from her employer

Any information you can provide in response to my question here is very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Thank you,

This is LONDON information and does not apply to every consulate.

The I-134 from the aunt + her letter of employment will be enough for a London fiancé interview. They won't need one from a fiancé with zero income. They do not need proof that the aunt is a US citizen. They do not require a tax return. Many have been approved with only an employee letter with the rest of the financial information handed back by the document collector before the interviewer even views it.

If you you want a second proof of income for backup, the IRS has an online, automated, print your own tax return transcript service. She could email the resulting PDF document to you to print in the UK.

I have my interview in 2 weeks and I wanted to know if when my fiancée fills out the I-134 does she need to send it anywhere or just a copy of it with the supporting documents to me for my interview in London?

You take it to the interview along with your other personal documents, passport photos, efc.

She sends the signed original to you. Actually you were supposed to have that in your hands before submitting the Readiness for Interview form because you aren't ready to interview until you have it.

Thanks that helps. I have another query. She only has $4000 in savings as we've used a lot for the wedding, she has about $20000 in personal and $146k in house value. We are worried the savings won't be enough. Plus I'll be bringing $4000 over with me and I can transfer with my work but need my auth to work so that won't be for a while, but have a letter saying I have a job in the US.

If she is unemployed, then it is impossible to know what they will approve. Your post is unclear because It says she only has $4000, then you say $20,000. Bring proof of everything you both can present and find out on interview day. If it is not acceptable, they will tell you to find a joint sponsor. Your case will be on hold until you can send in more financial backing.

If the amount is approved, then it would be nice to have you come back with a new thread and tell what exactly they approved on to help others. Example, "my visa was approved with:

$4,000 savings from unemployed US fiancé

$146k house value of US fiancé

$4,000 from UK fiancé

Promise of a job for UK fiancé"

Sorry if I was unclear she works as a supervisor at a hospital she is a RN. She brings in 60k per year. The 4k is savings/checking and the 20k is material income such as car etc and then the house at 146k. My salery will be 46k per year. Will this be enough?

If there is salary of $60k, then skip the savings, the house, your job offer. Don't bother to even list the assets. They don't need anything but proof of that RN job income. A $20k job would be enough if it's just the two of you. Her job could sponsor a family of 10 on a K visa.
