I’m wondering if all AOS cases from Missouri are sent to a district office. I have had no touches on my case status since they approved my EAD card. If they would transfer my case would they Email me?

Also, how long does it usually take to get your SS number after one applied at the office?

I know the lady said 3-6 weeks but that seems quit long.

Generally the AOS is assigned to your local office but it can take a while, usually a month after all documents are in place. But, it seems that the information is conflicting. The notices say that your case will be handled by Missouri but it likely will be sent to the local office of juridiction, because of the need for an interview.

If you are signed up for email notification, then you will be able to see when anything has happened to your case when you check on it. Go to the Login link at the USCIS web site. They record electronically every time your case is handled, even if it is just moved to another persons desk, because they need to keep track of where it is at all times. Their case load is incredibly large.

We are in the same situation, but we are waiting for the notice concerning my wife's son. It would be nice to see some touches but it generally will sit for a long time until it's time to be worked on.

Hang in there.

Don't even waste your time with the status web site. During our entire AOS process the has only been one touch on it. It still says the notice how they have received our application. Well guess what?!?!? Since then, she has already done her biometrics twice and interviewed for her green card, and got approved. The web site has not changed!!!!! It does say it has been updated on Jan.17. NOT!!!!!

If you get transferred to CSC for processing, then yes you will get an email that your case status has changed and the status will reflect the transfer. If your case is just sent to your local office from Missouri then as far as I know you won't be notified of this since my guess is they assume most people know this will automatically happen (just like they don't update after you've had biometrics). The status updates are for anomalies like the CSC transfer or approval, RFE, etc.
