Hello!

I have a question about which address I should use on my AOS documents.

We are getting married on July 19, 2014. I've been in the US for 2 years on J-1 visa ( the 2-years rule does not apply) as an aupair (which means I legally live with the family I work for-have the address on my drivers licence, SSN,...).

My fiance rents an apartment-he is the only one on the lease.

We are in process of buying a house right now (in the same city)- we are closing on the house on July 30, 2014 which is 11 days after the wedding. After the wedding I will live with him but since we are staying in the apartment for less than 2 weeks we won't put my name on the lease.

I want to send my AOS package as soon as possible (on Monday July 21, 2014-when we get a copy of our marriage certificate) but I don't know which I address I should put on I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765..

Thank you for your help!

If you're certain about closing on the house, address it there. If circumstances change, you can always file an AR-11 online to notify USCIS of your correct address.

As another poster said - if you are 100% certain nothing will go wrong, use the new house's address.

BUT, having gone through buying a house, I found there to be many variables that could cause the deal to fall through up until the last minute. Personally, for something this important I would just wait those few extra days until you've closed.

You can always list a relatives address and change it later on. We did this whilst trying to find a new place and moving out of our old rental. We listed his Aunt's house since we visited every weekend and it was a safe option.
