I'm so angry and frustrated right I need to vent :ranting: . I mailed my response to an RFE to the USCIS office in Fairfax VA Tuesday express mail. It was suppose to arrive yesterday but instead some idiot decided to mail it to the Coast Guard in Washington DC. I even mailed it while I was in VA yet it ended up in DC. I contacted the post office yesterday and of course they couldn't understand why it was mailed there and created a case for me and told me I'd receive a call today. Well that call came a moment ago and they informed me I need to contact the Consumer Affairs Office for the post office. I called the number and of course they have already left for the day.

I called the USCIS number yesterday to find out if it was suppose to be rerouted and of course they couldn't understand why it was delivered to the coast guard and told me they can't check to see if they have for 60 days. :ranting: I had been getting the online updates whenever any action occurred on my case but this time when I got the RFE I received no alert....just a letter in the mail. I'm concerned when they do receive it I will get zero confirmation they have it.

I called the coast guard today and they don't even know why my package was sent to them. All the guy could do was give me the number to the mail room but they leave daily at 3:30 :crying:

I'm stuck waiting another day to try to find out what he h@!! happened to my package. I paid a lot of money for my husband's birth certificate translation. USPS will pay for this!

I sure hope so, but I wouldn't hold my breath. USPS screw up on a regular basis and I haven't really found anything I can do about it.

You did all the right things, called all the right places. I was wondering - do you perhaps have copies of what you sent them? If it would take too long to track down your original package, it might be a good bet to try sending it again, that way USCIS might get through your case sooner. Just a thought...

That's why I always used UPS/FedEx to send USCIS my stuff. I only have to worry about USPS one way, not both. Good luck to you, I hope you get it all sorted soon!

Wait, you don't have a copy of what you mailed in? If yes send it again, don't wait for someone to locate your lost mail and return it back to right place. Their payroll doesn't cover that.

I have pdf copies. The thing is the company overnighted a copy to me on better quality paper with their certification seal on it. I paid a money for it and it has my husbands personal information on it which is why I've been desperate to retrieve it.

Anyway, I've asked the company to resend another copy with the seal on it. I haven't gotten a response yet. I do think it's better I go ahead and reship with UPS to be on the safe side.

The funny thing is I had my phone number on the package and would think someone at the Coast Guard would contact me to tell my package was accidentally shipped to them. At this point I really don't know what happened, if it reached but tracking is wrong or didn't get there. I still plan to pursue it even if I resend another copy.

How about this:

If your package safely arrives to USCIS then you won't make USPS pay and all the revenge you can think of at the moment. If it doesn't arrive, then go ahead and stab them in the stomach.

I'm not trying to protect them, it is quiet sad that when it is 2014 things like these happen. But I also believe in basic good of mankind and that everyone makes mistakes when others suffer from. Certainly, it was not intentional action on USPS, and certainly they did not benefit anything from it. Just a thought.

Right now I'm not thinking about the basic good of mankind....no offense to you. Nor do I care if it was intentional or unintentional. It doesn't make any sense for a package to be delivered to the wrong location when the address is clearly printed on the package and all they have to do is read it. Considering the nature of what was lost and how much money I paid for that translation I'm furious. Even if it does arrive I will see to it they reimburse me for the expedite cost. If it doesn't arrive they will reimburse me for the money I paid for the translation.

I won't go as far as to stab them in the stomach even if I feel like it :P

This is par for the course with USPS. You get this with welfare-to-work programs. My wife and I ran into the same garbag when we filed her I-485 form. They delivered it to the wrong floor once, and then the wrong address the next time even though it was clearly printed in 24 point type. My advice--UPS or FEDEX. There's actually accountability with them.

Someone from the coast guard called me today and told me my package was delivered to USCIS Friday and I should contact the person it was intended for to confirm receipt. Of course if I call they will tell me I have to wait 60 days before they can create a service request. I ordered another certified translation which arrived today. My husband thinks we should mail it to be on the safe side. I thought about doing an infopass and confirm that way and if the dont have it drop it off. Not sure which is the best option but I know I don't feel comfortable just trusting what the Coast Guard officer told me since I don't have a way to verify or tracking proof.

To be continued......

I've decided to just mail the document again. Hopefully this time I will have tracking to prove delivery...definitely won't be USPS. They didnt even bother calling back. That will be the last $20 they will get out of me. Thankfully I'm still at a point where I have plenty of time to respond or I'd be really messed up.
