Evening my lovely lovely fellow applicants.

I've just submitted my DS-160 after receiving my letter of approval from the Embassy in London. Hooray!
After much reading (again) and reams and reams of conflicting (and often massively dated) information, I've gotten myself all knotted up in the process and procedure to follow, and am a little confused as to what action -- if any -- I now need to take.

Am I correct in my thinking that I, myself, am required to book my medical at the Knightbridge doctors, rather than wait for an appointment date?
Am I also correct in thinking that once my medical is booked I'm required to submit my 'Notification of Applicant Readiness' form to the Embassy (I have all the required documentation in hand already), pay my interview fee and then just wait for my interview date?

I'm sorry for having to ask more questions, but it seems increasingly difficult to obtain consistent information and/or accurate instructions as to the next stages of the visa process.

Many thanks,

Mark

~Moved from K-1 Process to UK Regional Forum~

~At this stage of process instructions/requirements are often embassy-specific~

(organizer hat off)

Be sure to check the great pinned thread at the top of the regional forum page, London K1. A complete guide.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)

I think your thread was getting moved when I was trying to post this. Anyway, here it it

Your letter from London gives a link to the London instructions for a K1. It will not be the same as all other consulate procedures you read.

Am I correct in my thinking that I, myself, am required to book my medical at the Knightbridge doctors, rather than wait for an appointment date?

Correct. In London you can't get an interview until the embassy receives your medical report from Knightsbridge.

Am I also correct in thinking that once my medical is booked I'm required to submit my 'Notification of Applicant Readiness' form to the Embassy (I have all the required documentation in hand already),

Correct

pay my interview fee and then just wait for my interview date?

Wait for an interview date, THEN pay fee.

I'm sorry for having to ask more questions, but it seems increasingly difficult to obtain consistent information and/or accurate instructions as to the next stages of the visa process.

Try the pinned thread in the UK forum concerning the K1 procedures. Anything that has changed has been updated in the posts past #8. Things like phones in the embassy, calling DOS have changed and are updated if you continue to read. UK forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/ is the best place to find info for this part, as well as carefully reading all the links on the embassy website.
