On Friday I got the email/text that my oath had been scheduled and today I got the letter...it's 11/04! It's super special because it's also my son's birthday.

I have a couple of questions. How long does it take? Also, they asked me to bring any other immigration documents I might have in my possession. What do they mean by that? Other than a couple reentry permits and my two GCs I don't have anything else. And did anyone apply for a passport immediately? Thanks everyone for all the support!

I've gone through the timelines here, and it seems that Chicago is a bit slower than other places. It seems that mostly people have their interviews 2-3 months after the biometrics. Is that right? I just had my biometric appointment today (10/31), but I'll be out of the country for the month of December, and now I'm worried that I'll have to reschedule my interview.

Well, I certainly didn't have to worry about that, since it's been 3 months since my biometrics and I'm still not even "in line" for an appointment. It's odd, since other other filers in Chicago, even those who filed after me, are all way ahead in the process. I wonder what it is that's holding up my file. Has anyone else heard of it taking so long to get an appointment?

Make an appointment by calling the office of your US Senator, and explain the situation to them. They will get the process moving again. Guaranteed.
