I'm confused (again) i will be using a moving company. They said I must cross the border before my household goods as I need an 1-94 # to give them. Do people with a CR1 and crossing by land get an 1-94# I didn't think so.

I wanted my stuff to go ahead of me as they say it can take a few weeks. ( long distance move)

..My visa is in my passport just not activated by crossing. What is it they are looking for?

CR-1s don't get I-94s.

That is what I thought!! I only see it for non-immigrant Visa's. So what is it they want? They said I have to give them some number I get at the border??

Yes, you must physically cross first. Usually the moving company will pick up your stuff a few days before you go, then hold it until you cross the border and send them the documentation.
