My fiancée worked in Malaysia in 1998 and no longer has the passport used when she worked there. Lost as to what to do. Any suggestions?

Such a terse question without much info...so I'm not sure what exactly you are seeking.

Based on your writing, I am assuming she is non-Malaysian but had worked there?

I believe you have to acquire Police Certificates all countries that she resides for more than 6 months.

Normally, you can go to consulate/embassy office for those countries and

file a request for police certificate.

My fiancee is going through this and Russian consulate advised her that

it will take 3 to 4 weeks.

I don't think her old and expired passport is necessary,

but they will want a formal picture ID (such as her current passport) to verify her identity

to make this request.

She can check www.kln.gov.my/ for info and apply online. After they received her application online for Certificate of Good Conduct they will email her to submit the supporting documents at the Malaysian Embassy. My mother kept her old passport so it was easy because they asked the information of her work visa that stamped in her old passport such as name of employer and employer's address.

March 7, 2013 →NOA1 of I-130 ( National Benefits Center )
October 17, 2013 →Transfered to Nebraska Service Center
November 19, 2013 → Case Approved
November 22, 2013 → Case Sent to DoS
December 16, 2013 → NVC Received the Case
January 9, 2014 → Got NVC number via phone
January 16, 2014 → AOS Paid
January 28, 2014 - IV Paid
February -- Joint Sponsor back-out =(
April 4, 2014 - Found New Joint Sponsor =)
April 10, 2014 → Sent AOS package and IV documents
April 17, 2014 --AOS package and IV documents entered the system
May 2, 2014 → RFE for AOS
June 2, 2014 → Sent new AOS package
June 6, 2014 → AOS package entered the system
July 8, 2014 →NVC Case Complete
August 4, 2014 → Interview ( APPROVED!) under AP waiting for HK Police Clearance Certificate.
