Needing some opinions

Hi everybody! I'm currently waiting on the I129-F for my fiancé that lives in Australia. My paperwork is at the TSC and I received my NOA1 on February 27th. When I sent in my paperwork it was not taking as long so I thought we had plenty of time. I have my wedding set for September 20th of this year and things booked. I know it says not to plan the wedding before we knew anything, but I thought it was plenty of time. Long story short do you think there is any chance he will receive his K1 in time? I can move everything without a problem, I just need opinions. This process is so unpredictable

I think you shld stop everything for now cause you dnt know how your journey will be just to not keep on rescheduling everything over and over again

If you can still get your money back I would. It looks like TSC is still working on petitions filed in Jan. Even if you get approved in the next couple of weeks, you then have to wait for the petition to go to NVC and be processed which can take a month. Look at the time lines from reviews of recent approvals through the same embassy. It looks like it takes a good 6 weeks after NVC to get an interview scheduled. I would get my money back and wait to plan.

You will be lucky to get NOA2 in August and if you did, the stars would have to be perfectly aligned to get NVC, Packet 3, medical, interview and then visa issued all before 9/20 in order for the flight to get here in time for the wedding. I hate to seem pessimistic, but the stars have rarely been properly aligned for TSC folks, so I would (and this is just me), remove the 20th as your date and wait to re-schedule when you have something more firm. There are just too many variables and time is not on your side in this case. Good luck

I went through TSC, and my NOA1 was Dec 19, 2013, NOA2 was Jun 2, 2014,

and we are hoping for her arrival in early September.

I think your Sep 20 date is at significant risk.

I would find out what the cancellation fee will be and when you need to do it by.

This way, you can hold on to that date as long as you can,

but terminated early enough so that you can minimize penalty/loss.

If you don't want to headache of trying to time this perfectly...because we really CAN'T...

you should consider setting up wedding ceremony after POE.

If you are stressed out about 90 day with POE wedding pressure,

simply go to the county court and get married with peace of justice

that way you are legally married within 90 days,

and you can comfortably hold the wedding ceremony at a later date.

sorry to disappoint you, I agreed with everyone, very slight or no chance to have visa on hand before sept. We went thru Sydney consulate and it took us around 10 months from sending I-129F to visa issued, took around 5 months from NOA1 to NOA2, 4/5 weeks to arrive at NVC, then depends on how quick you return the packet 3 as interview date will be scheduled within 30 days after they received packet 3, normally for interview after 2 weeks, if approved another few days for visa and passport posted back to you..... would suggest you keep your wedding plan on hold until you get closer to visa issuing date or at least interview date.
