the GOP reaches out to Americans. the jackass party reaches out to individual groups of Americans.

The only thing either party reaches out for is our wallets.

Term limits and less pay would be a good incentive to attract people that are truly interested in serving the public, rather than making a cushy career out of being in office.

Interestingly enough, Democrat congressman Jim Moran says that congressfolk aren't paid nearly enough.

The average salary of the American people is around $45,000. Members of Congress make a minimum of $174,000. They bring in a bit more every year if they are in leadership.

But, at least one member of Congress doesn’t think this is all good enough. As his party pushes for a 39% increase in the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10, with many advocating for a $15 minimum wage, Jim Moran thinks his $174,000 annual salary plus benefits is not sufficient.

Democrat Rep. Jim Moran, from Virginia, thinks that members of Congress are underpaid. In an interview with Roll Call, Moran acknowledged that many Americans believe Congress underperforms, but he pushes the notion that they should be paid more because “they are the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world.”

Yes. because they're doing such a stellar job.

That ain't my point, and you know it. My point is that blacks never elect conservatives. What was it, for example... some 95% of blacks voted for Obama.

And do you actually think that conservatives would go out of their way not to help? That is silly.

You missed the mark by a bit there sad face. In one of the biggest racial moves 8 the history of the country, blacks voted not for Obama because he's a liberal but because he's black, plain and simple. They thought it would further the cause of blacks getting ahead.
