Man beaten to death in front of crowd at Amtrak station in San Antonio

LIB has a point. One of the "liberal" arguments around here was that GZ was not in fear for his life because TM was just a happy go lucky child skipping home from the local 7-11 with his ice tea and skittles when he was shot dead in cold blood by the maniac gun nut wannabe cop.

Looks like a beating can kill you. Who knew?

I remember something along those lines being said here, but LIB has no point when he paints this as the liberal point of view on this board. It's foolish how often some people on this board throw out the liberal tag whenever someone disagrees with them and it significantly diminishes any point they are trying to make.

Is there something special about his picture?

beat the man with his fists until he was dead... But you liberals said George Zimmerman was a pansy for fearing for his life when enduring the beatdown byTravon. No need to defend himself with a gun ,,, fists are not a lethal weapons

Can you show us where someone said you can't be beat to death? That would help.

So how does a person win with the left. If they take the beat down and die, it's the crowds fault, if they defend themselves with deadly force they are racist and could have used other means ??

So what do you do if you find yourself being beat to death by a young man of color ?

What is wrong with the bystanders ? How about what is wrong with the guy that committed the murder. ? Maybe his skittles bag was low

So you're comparing a teen walking home and being stalked by some grown man to this? You're better than that.

also interesting to note there were armed security guards in the station, but they were just a tad late..

I bet you that "crowd" turns out to be a two or three people

He appears to have some kind of skin disorder. Notice the abnormally dark pigmentation.

That must be it. Let me check on something.

Teenagers are tried all the time as adults for murder. Apparently they can be dangerous. GZ found that out. Good thing he had his gun.

In both instances a person was attacked with intent to kill. In one instance the victim attacked used deadly force and is alive today, in the other the the victim did not and died.

Yes I am saying that because someone is walking down a sidewalk and you think they may be following you, does not give you the right to try and kill them anymore than sitting on a bench does. That is why GZ is a free man

and if GZ had not been armed he would probably be just as dead as the man at the Amtrack station and you would have never heard of him, just like most of America will never hear of this story.

My argument was how scared of your life could you be when you're actively chasing someone? I Better thing would have been to let the cops do their jobs, since TM wasn't breaking a single law at the time when GZ decided to go after him.

And GZ was not breaking a single law by walking down the sidewalk to see where someone went. TM was in the wrong and broke the law when he assaulted GZ with intent to kill. thta is why CZ is a free man today. I have no doubt had the animal in this scenario been killed by an armed by stander, the same people raising sand about Saint Skittles, would be demanding justice, wanting to know why grown men could not have subdued an obvious mental patient . As many of you have said. A real man does not need a gun to keep from getting beat to death.. Right

It's a sad statement of where we are as a society when someone can be beaten to death in front of a crowd of people and no one helps.

Totally agree.

When you refer to a group of people as "you liberals", do you do that because you fear calling anyone out by name, or do you simply have no idea who, if anyone, actually said that?

Me thinks you are being too sensitive, it is just an expression...

The stories for this are all pretty void of facts.. One that has a bit more information: http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local/article/Man-pummeled-to-death-at-train-station-5604418.php#photo-6564427

SAN ANTONIO — Immediately after pummeling a man to death last week during what appeared to be an unprovoked attack at an Amtrak station east of downtown, Michael Joseph Fobbs Jr.'s demeanor seemed to change, witnesses said.
He went from angry to “calm and detached” as he retrieved a new shirt from his luggage and changed out of his blood-covered garments in the station's bathroom, witnesses told police.
Fobbs, 21, was charged Thursday with murder. He remained at Bexar County Jail Monday in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Two passengers waiting for the next train told police they saw Fobbs, of Cibolo, pacing back and forth angrily just before 11 p.m. Thursday.
The witnesses reported Fobbs gave them “an angry look” several times, prompting one to ask Fobbs if there was a problem. Fobbs walked away and then entered and exited the waiting area several times, still apparently angry, the witnesses told police.
When he went outside the third time, he started pummeling a man, 56, who had been sitting on a bench, according to police.
A witness said the man on the bench “was just sitting there” when Fobbs began punching him. Authorities have not yet released his identity, pending notification of next of kin.
San Antonio police officers arrived and reported Fobbs was “very calm and was cooperative, but appeared void of expression and emotion.” Fobbs told police he felt threatened by the man on the bench, but that the man had done “nothing” to make him feel that way.
Fobbs then said that he hit the man first so the man would not have a chance to hurt him.
Police wrote in a report that Fobbs “did not appear to be in a normal state of mind, and appeared detached from the incident that just happened.” Fobbs told police he did not have any mental disabilities.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

Sensitive? No. I'm just pointing out laziness and foolishness.
