IRS business tax issues in past 7 years, will it affect visa approval of the applicant?

Hi,

I wanted to know if the petioner has some unsettled taxes with IRS, related to his business closure, will it affect on the approval of his application? It happened over 7 years ago but the state where he did that business didn't pursue anything to do with it anymore. We are just curios if this could affect the approval of his application.

Business was done in another city, and right now he is residing in another city..it happened way back 7 year ago

What matters is your I-134 Affidavit of Support with latest 1040 tax return showing proof of income that meets 125% of the federal minimum poverty level for the petitioner's household, presented at the interview. Unless these "unsettled taxes" affect that, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, he is earning above the poverty line, I just hope it wont matter that much on their appraisal on his background, thanks Sirliner!
