K1 April Filers - A Look Back

For those of you at TSC, just sit back and get ready to wait! I just got my NOA2 on July 3rd. I filed on December 16th, 2013. Six and a half months. Oh, and it would have taken a lot longer if I hadn't gotten my congressman's office to send in an inquiry.

What you guys should do is wait until exactly 5 months has passed. Then immediately contact your congressman (Senators don't seem nearly as helpful about this), and ask them to open an inquiry with USCIS. When my congressman did that - it was approved on the exact same day they received his request!!! So please... remember that and do it. I delayed a month and a half before I did it thinking it wouldn't help. And apparently I just lost that month and a half for not doing it sooner.

Right now we have an Interview scheduled in September. We are so excited!

We filed April 17. Got NOA2 May 7. We are not planning to move to the US until the New Year and little did i know that we could end up getting the visa too soon! We received packet 3 on may 30. I didnt submit the checklist until June 30. We could had an interview date of August 15 but pushed it to September 23. I feel a bit bad dragging my heels when there are other filers who have been waiting so patiently! I have been pretty pleased with the process over all but cant wait until it's over.

We received our NOA 1 on April 4th.

Based on my research it appears CSC April filers should expect a NOA2 june - august and TSC filers should expect a NOA2 August - October

It just appears the difference in case loads and processing times is substantial enough to create such an indifference in NOA2 dates.

All we can do is be patient (especially for those TSC people like myself)

We had a September 10 Interview. Got Expedited to August 13!

Needless to say, im pissed off at the tsc. I don't want to have to wait until next year for my love to arrive...but this seems to be the case at the rate they're going. It's not fair...not fair to anyone on the east coast. I just want to start my life & instead I'm crazy depressed because my other half is 3500 miles away across an ocean. I didn't mean to fall in love with him...it just happened...

I won't give up though. He's my whole world...

Check the USCIS processing times chart for TSC. CURRENTLY PROCESSING APPLICATIONS FOR k1 visa from DEcEMBER 17th 2013 submission. That means 4 more months for all those TSC people. While CSC have already received or will be receiving shortly. This is a prime example of the governments inability to manage its USCIS field offices. The difference in processing times is not fair to anyone. I wonder if the west coast gets its tax returns back twice as fast also.

Yes, but it's not just government's inability to manage USCIS field offices, it's government's inability to manage ANYTHING! We see it in this case because we're involved in this process. But believe me, this same inefficiency and bungling is going on in every governmental office throughout the land. (And we want them to take over health care too)!?

Our NOA1 date is April 30th... Our alien registration number has been changed on May 2nd.... Since then, no news.

We are at TSC and know that we still have to wait at least a couple of months but we can't help hoping it will arrive sooner...

Do no worry. Just try to keep your mind off of it. Just let the months pass by and prepare other things when your fiance and you will be together

For us, we always communicate and skype and occupy ourselves by maybe watching a movie or something. Anything to keep your mind off of this Journey.
