Mexicans often say they are not from Mexico, all a game.

Of course and since they are undocumented,, well of course any rational person can figure it out

and having managed more than a few illegal aliens in my day and maybe having dated one..

Many times I can tell the difference between Mexicans and other central Americans. Many times especially Guatemalans are easy to spot, even Mexican's from northern Mexico look and sound different than Mexicans from the south

Not an absolute rule but generally speaking

They are here because of the dream act nonsense mostly is my opnion. Why else would you cross all of dangerous Mexico

But the ones in the article weren't unaccompanied minors. You wouldn't believe what people will do to get here. I know several who have come through the desert. They honestly and happily risked their lives for a chance to come here and work and live.

Must I do EVERYTHING for you, spookster??

You must have missed the meeting when we voted to change the forum name to Current Hot Events and Social Topics, hence CHEST. Much better than CEHST.

And why not? How many do you see risking their lives to live in the UK?

Or to put another spin on it... why do you think the original settlers risked SO MUCH to leave the British tyranny?

You may have voted, but just as with the US elections, it must not have counted for much, cuz the forum title still hasn't changed. Perhaps you need summa those cross-eyed correction glasses?

Leiden is in the Netherlands.

The "illegals" are asylum seekers. Regardless of how they entered the country, the law allows them to apply for asylum. So, how were they breaking the law when they were being processed under US laws and in the custody of ICE? How were they breaking the law at that point when confronted by the protesters?

It's not about right or left, it's about right and wrong. They crossed the border illegally. They do not have visas. They do not have a valid, LEGAL reason to be here. They WANT to be here. That is all.

So if my wife had left the Philippines, and somehow sneaked into the USA, would you be such a champion for her "right" to be here? Or would you say she should go back home and do it all legally?

Because The Truth was there?

Oh Hail, I won't even go there....

If 60.000 is an invasion, then the 12 million currently here must be the occupational force. The 60K are more like reinforcements for an upcoming offensive.

Just another bump in the road, actually. But it SEEMS like a lot when you throw all those zeroes up against one number in a short period of time.

Reality? We are all just illegal immigrants in the US. Just ask Sitting Bull...

Quite true. But we're better than the new illegal immigrants.

I C they turn the central American illegals loose but not the Mexicans. The story on the CBS news did not make that distinction. Still it seems absurd. I wonder what small % actually report back for their hearing .

I think its if the border you are tying to cross is your own border then they send them right back.. So Canadians and Mexicans... Obama did ask congress on June 30th for the authority to treat all persons as they do Mexicans crossing the border (a quick interview to determine if they should be considered for asylum and sent back on the spot if they do not) but has since withdrawn that request.. Congress may give it too him anyway and make it mandatory to receive any money.

The Office of the UN High Commission on refugees has stated that they expect 60% should be getting permanent asylum but currently only about 35% are going to get it thought he numbers are seeing a lot of flux right now.

Breakdown of the 3.7 Billion that is being asked for this crisis:

$68.4 million to increase border security

$364 million for temporary housing and screening of children and families by Border Patrol agents

$1.8 billion for long-term housing for children under the Department of Health and Human Services

$879 million to detain, prosecute, and deport migrant parents

$64 million for quicker court cases for children and families

$295 million to reintegrate deportees and address root causes in Central America

$5 million for a media campaign telling families not to come to the US

Lost of good information where I pilfered these:
