i am petitioning my wife and my 3 other under 21 children, i filed i 130 for each one of them. NVC is requiring to have each one of them have separate i 864. ANyone knows how to count my household size.

part 5: sponsor's household size

person you are sponsoring in this affidavit

a. enter the number ou entered on line 10 01

person not sponsored in this affidavit

b. yourself 01

c. if currently married enter 1 for spouse 01

d. if you have dependent children enter number here ? {do i count my intending dependent children}

e. any other dependents 00

f. if you have sponsored before who are now lawful perm res. 00

g. optional: count those who will include use as co sponsor on same address 00

h. total household size ?

i would appreciate your help.

I answered this one yesterday.

If you are sponsoring your wife, she is first the immigrant, and is only counted as an immigrant not your wife.

You would count your wife as your wife if she had green card or had naturalized, and then your were sponsoring an other immigrant like a son, daughter, mother father ect..

See where it says [Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit:] Since you are sponsoring her she is counted on "a" and not "c"

If the children are also immigrating they get counted on "a" and not "d"

Only count dependents on "c" through "g" if they are already either permanent residents or citizens of the USA.
