I-864 Question : Employment type & Annual Income

Hi VJers...I have few questions regarding AOS(I-864) for my Parents.

I own a Business. Me and my wife work in our business on fixed monthly salary. We filed the Business taxes with S Corporation. Also we filed our personal income tax as married jointly.

So I have 2 main questions which are as follows :

(1) What should I put in employment type ?

--> Self Employed OR Employed As a Manager/Cashier

(2) For Annual Income calculation in I-864, which one should I use? A,B or C ?

A. Just only my current fixed salary ? Because my wife is not working now.

--> Annual Income = Monthly salary * 12

B. Income from last year's tax returns ?

--> Line 22. TOTAL INCOME ? OR

Line 37. ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME ?

C. My Current monthly Salary & Last year's Business Income

-->Annual Income = ( Monthly Salary *12) + Business Income from Last year's tax returns

Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

Since you own a business, you would say 'self employed'

For my husband, he did his weekly income x 52 (weeks)

We wrote the total of that as the current income

There is a section for previous tax returns, you would write the amounts the tax returns show in that section. I THINK you write the adjusted income, but hopefully a more experienced poster will answer this question ^^;

Also, you use your income from your personal tax return, not the business ^^
