Hi,

According to the October 2015 Visa Bulletin, the NVC will contact F2b beneficiaries with a PD before July 1, 2010, to begin pre-processing at the NVC.

My nephew's PD in the F2b category is May 2010. He has not received the letter to start. When he does, I will post on this thread.

If you have a PD that is close, please post to let me know if you receive the notice to start paperwork at the NVC.

I hope your information will allow us to see the correlation between the "Dates for Filing Application" and when the beneficiary is actually contacted.

Thank you.

So close, yet so far. Sigh.

Congrats Puru and Chubbs.

Can you please explain the list of documents you guys have provided at the time of Interview? My brother's PD has become current under F2B (Jan 4, 2015) same as Hamida's daughter.

What documents/photocopies should beneficiary bring to the interview?

Thanks in advance..

Congrats and good luck Hamida. Is it same date and time as they told you on phone? Also, before this call when was the last time you contacted NVC? I am glad but just 2.5 weeks is kind of short notice especially if there are not many panel physicians and if they are too busy.

Congrats Puru and Chubbs.

Check Packet 4 instructions, but it's usual documents that you have already submitted to NVC. Only new thing would be Medical I guess.

Puru - Is it advisable to include additional documents proving the relationship(for F2B) with Civil documents to NVC or is it best to take those at NVC? If yes, what additional document maybe recommended, maybe school leaving cert with mother's/father's name etc?

@Hamida :

His case is not completed yet because we submitted PCC later but PD has become current. We are expecting that case will complete this month. He wants to prepare all the documents for the interview beforehand to avoid any further waste of time.

@Sap283:

We haven't received packet 4 yet becuase our case is not complete yet but will get complete this month.

Does beneficiary need to provide AOS package again during interview?

My cousin has the same PD -- May 2010. I believe the petition was mailed out using my home address so, if we receive a letter, I'll be sure to post here. As you know, my cousin received an e-mail that they can send in the documents so they've already started preparing.

Hi all,

Please can anybody help me out with this SSN thing?? Its been 2 weeks since I have arrived here and I haven't received my SSN yet. How long it takes generally? I remember that I have chosen the option of SSN issuance while filling out the DS-260 form, do I need to contact SS office in this regard?? Am I missing something, I mean does an applicant need to do any formalities or paperwork after arrived here to get the SSN?

@Chubbs,

How long it took for your son's SSN?? Please share your views.

Purru,

In all the cases from my family members(myself, sisters, brother, niece and newphews in 2007/2008) none of them received SSN even after 4 weeks and we had to finally go to Social security office to get it issued and after this we got it in 2 weeks.
