Haha! Puru must be jet lagged for sure and at other times he must be with his loved ones. :) So happy for him, and now soon it will be the same for Hamida, Phoenyxx, Limenita and the others!!! God Bless u all abundantly!

Question for F2B applicants, my aunt is saying that she had my cousin send an e-mail to NVC asking that they "rush" her brother's petition since the mother hasn't seen him in a long time and apparently, they sent an e-mail back saying that they will send a welcome letter and she has to pay the AOS fee ($120) and complete the COA.

His PD is May 2010. Now, I just want to know if anyone else has received a welcome letter recently and what their PD is since I think it's just that his case was next to be processed at NVC anyways and it wasn't her e-mail that triggered it. Thanks!

Chances are his PD will be current in the upcoming months or so and NVC usually start sending out the welcome packets around that time, merely a major coincidence. NVC aren't that kind to 'rush' petitions to my knowledge :)

My cousin pd is 6 june,2010 F2B .Is she eligible to apply for I-485 form??Her mom is green card holder and applied for her.

Ahh, I see. Yes, in the e-mail they sent my cousin, they supposedly told her to wait for the welcome letter with the case number and invoice number. I'm sure they'll probably send it when the procedures are finally in place.

NVC has been doing so since years so not any change to NVC's process EXCEPT that now you would know when to expect 'Welcome Letter'. In the past even though NVC would start sending Welcome Letters almost year ahead of of ones priority date becoming current, it was guess work and you had to call to find out.

Priority date for case I am helping is July 2009 and they got welcome letter in June 2015(when priority dates were OCT/NOV 2008).

Just called NVC and they said my daughter's interview has been scheduled for October 01, 2015 at 7 a.m. Have not received any email from them. I will follow up for email tomorrow so that

she can get her medical done.

Her mom is in USA but she's in Pakistan.

Since your cousin is in Pakistan, she does not qualify for AOS and can not file the I-485. She will go through consular processing and must wait for her PD to be current in the "Application Final Action Dates" for an immigration visa.

Only people legally in the US on non-immigrant visas with PDs before the "Dates for Filing Applications" can file the I-485 to adjust.

It's not useless in my point of view. Now, these people will know when to expect the NVC to start the paperwork. Before, they were lost and confused as to when the NVC was going to contact them.

Hi,

According to the October 2015 Visa Bulletin, the NVC will contact F2b beneficiaries with a PD before July 1, 2010, to begin pre-processing at the NVC.

My nephew's PD in the F2b category is May 2010. He has not received the letter to start. When he does, I will post on this thread.

If you have a PD that is close, please post to let me know if you receive the notice to start paperwork at the NVC.

I hope your information will allow us to see the correlation between the "Dates for Filing Application" and when the beneficiary is actually contacted.
