Yes Puru and even for Hamida and all the rest who wait for their loved ones, it will be really good if the VB moves by about 2-3 months since it was stagnant last VB.

Puru

Any Updates on your case..?

Good Luck

Nopes :(

Waiting to get current, dont know when will I get an interview. This is the most frustrating part when you need to wait after case completion for just an interview.:mellow:

congrats chubbs. Best of luck

Hamida.

What abt ur daughter's case?? Completed or still under processing??

Ah, gotcha. So, they basically start sending those out say 6 months before PD becomes current.

Another question: I've been hearing negative things about changing from CP to AOS. I'm considering that option as a last resort in order to go take care of my father, hopefully it doesn't get to that. Is it possible?

In my opinion(though I am not an attorney) AOS is better. However, I am not sure how you're planning to come to US if you are already IV beneficiary.

Going back to your original question - if you are already in US, and decide to go for AOS , NVC has no idea about your intention, so they will send letter/email(now a days maybe) to your home country address for COA selection, when case is about to be ready. You will then have to call or write NVC that you are already in US and they will send you a confirmation that they will stop processing your file/case, keep it on side until USCIS requests it back(USCIS will request it back from NVC when you will apply for AOS). Note that with AOS there is no pre-processing, i.e. you can only apply when your PD becomes current. Alternatively if you are confident that you will be legally present in US, when your PD becomes current, then you can notify NVC in advance(once your are in US) that you will adjust status here, rather than going for CP.

Congrats chubbs, hope that your loved one is get the visa same day. Keep us posted, as to if BMB still issues visa same day. I know they won't give it to you, but if they issue same day then you can collect from VFS that evening I guess, so don't have to wait for courier to arrive.

Puru,

No news on my daughter's case. Everything was submitted last month. Have not heard anything from NVC.

Can you describe your previously filed AOS better? Just trying to understand, why consular requested joint sponsor, when NVC reviewed and may have determined AOS as good enough. Don't they charge $85.00 for just doing that? What is your mother's financial situation, does she live alone and filed AOS for you? Does she live with someone(like your sibling(s)), filed AOS and your sibling(s) that sibling(s) filed I-864A as well?

My affidavit of support was avsolutely right, income was 2500$ above the povert guidelines. Actually one of our house hold member died but counselor was consistent on his stance that house hold size is 9 and I was arguing that house hold size is 8, in the end I quit arguing with him and accepted 221g, bcz I heard the storues that if you argue more or annoy the CO they might give you green ir yellow 221g or DNA test etc,
