Puru,

F2B Prioirty date January 5, 2009 - Daughter

Thanks for all your help. Based on your prompt responses I think everyone on this forum loves you. I am glad your case got completed in 30 days. I will call NVC next week if my IV invoice is not raised

It has been

DS-261 - showed completed on May 8, 2015

AOS Fee showed paid on May 9, 2015

No IV fee invoice initiated - it has been 13 days

Maybe next week there might be some progress.

Update

F2B Prioirty date January 5, 2009 - Daughter

Called NVC yesterday enquiring about my AOS Documents which were received by NVC on Thursday(April 23, 2015) and was told to wait for the email from NVC once the documents are scanned.

It will take about 7 days from date of receipt to get the confirmation from NVC

Also enquired about IV Invoice and agent was very helpful he said unless DS-261 has been verified this option will not be available. He said he can approve DS-261 but getting my confirmation on the phone which I did and he said I should receive email in next 7 days to go and pay IV fee.

I am expecting to hear something latest by May 1, 2015.

Once my IV Fee is paid I will be able to complete DS-230 and civil IV documents i.e. Birth certificate, police certificate, pictures, passport copy with covering letter which I will receive after IV fee payment.

After that will wait on NVC Review (last stage) and than interview call. I expect my daughter's priority date to be current hopefully by August 2015 and maybe she will get interview date sometime in

July 2015.

Please keep on praying

Thanks chubbs. I have family here with me. Hopefully next week we all get good news.

Koski,

As your case has been completed, I think you could help me out in this.

Yesterday, a letter arrived at my dad's place from NVC dated 21st April 2015. There was a case number mentioned in the subject line followed by the Invoice Id no. & the letter was referring MY NAME specifically and it was for me which gt delivered at petitioner's address, which is strange actually and never happened before. Whenever I have moved in past 7-8 years I did notify NVC all the times and they wrote back to me and never sent any notification to petitioner's address.

Anyways, this was the content in the letter:

FATHERS NAME

US ADDRESS

BAR CODES followed by this code: GRSYSGEN

Subject: case number followed by Invoice ID

21st April 2015

DEAR PURU444,

WE UPDATED THE MAILING/EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THIS CASE. PLEASE CONTINUE TO NOTIFY THE NVC OF ANY CHANGE OF MAILING/EMAIL ADDRESS, OR CHANGE IN PERSONAL SITUATION THAT MAY AFFECT THE PRINCIPAL APPLICANT'S ENTITLEMENT TO A VISA.

Case Number: XXXXXXXXX

Petitioner's Name: XXXXXXXXXX

Principal Applicant's Name: XXXXXXXXXX

Preference Category: XXXXXXXX

Your Priority Date: 17Dec2008

Foreign State Chargeability: INDIA

U.S. EMBASSY

SHANTIPATH, CHANAKYAPURI

NEW DELHI - 110021

INDIA

But, I never requested to change my address or e-mail address recently, especially at this stage. Does it mean that my case gt completed and India's address is not required anymore and they have changed it by my US address which I did mention in DS-260??

Moreover, I haven't received any e-mail in this regard. In fact on 24th April I called up NVC and operator confirms my e-mail address before answering my query and that is not changed at all and this letter was dated on 21st April that means my e-mail address is still the same and they have changed my postal address.

What's your view on this?? Have your petitioner too received any letter in your name over there in US after completion of your case?? Is it normal, do NVC follow this process too during the consular processing stage??

My petitioner hasn't gotten any email since my case got completed . A couple of other VJ members got the same letter you got about updating mailing address and called nvc to find out why. Seems the member said it was sent in error. My advice is to call NVC if you're worried about it. But you have no reason to since NVC confirmed your email address when you called on Friday.

Best of luck.

Hi Puru,

I received a similar postal mail. This was because my address when I first petitioned my son was different. Now when my son filled out his DS-261, we mentioned the address of our new home as my permanent address. And hence I received the mail, not email. I called NVC to ask if I should do anything about it and they said no they simply updated the new address. So you need not worry, maybe your parents are at a new place now, right? If not, then it was simply a procedure NVC is following when the case is being reviewed, so they have the latest info on the applicant.

Hey Nikoo,

You probably already read my response. The others will also chip in over the next 24 hours or so. I feel your case is complicated and you should seek help from a lawyer. You could ask questions free to a lawyer on

http://www.avvo.com/ask-a-lawyer. You can ask free or even choose to pay a small sum to get started. So you know where you stand. Best of luck.

And what is your sister's PD? If you applied in 2007, they are already current which means they should've got their papers processed and interview scheduled as well. But your mom being away has created a problem, as she no longer may enjoy LPR status. But don't worry make a serious effort, its an uphill task, maybe you will succeed.

In my case, my mum was outside US for about two years and the embassy asked my mum to provide reasons for not being in the US for more than a year. She only told them that my dad was sick. She showed email conversations with my brother in US together with my dad death certificate. She didn't seek the services of any lawyer before she was allowed to travel. But please let your mum not travel unless embassy grants her another green card otherwise she might be turned back. The only problem my mum has is that all those years she stayed in the US before the gap were not counted and that is why she is yet to be a citizen. She went for the citizenship interview and she was told that they started counting the number of years after the gap.
