Hello Puru,

I was able to get hold of one of the reps. in NVC after about more than 30 minutes of call waiting. The lady I spoke with asked what I wanted after asking for my particulars and that of my petitioner, and I told her I wanted to know about my case status which she checked and said that an information was sent out about my case on February 26, 2015, but I told her that i didn't get anything.

My mother who's the petitioner does not have an e-mail address and I wonder where they sent the information to. Nevertheless, I gave her my e-mail address and she said she will forward the information to my mail between 3-5 days.

I will call them again if after 5 days i don't hear from them, i will keep calling them just as you suggested until i have a good response to start processing my case.

Thanks for your kind suggestion as I look forward to hearing from NVC soon.

Do you see that? They have sent you the welcome letter and must activated the form DS-261 as well, whereas you were not aware of it. Keep in touch with NVC and update them with applicant's and petitioner's e-mail addresses.

Meanwhile, start collecting the civil documents and tell your mother to fill out affidavit of support form and gather all necessary financial documents which are applicable to your case.

My PD is 17th Dec 2008.

My petitioner and me both sent the photocopies to NVC. Photocopies of everything including every Financial and Civil Documents but I will bring the original documents of these two sets at interview for sure and it is mandatory and strictly instructed by NVC nowadays.

I gt my PCC from Passport seva kendra (PSK) on 13th March 2015 in New Delhi and my embassy is New Delhi not a consulate of Mumbai because I live in delhi not in mumbai.

Civil Documents for me and I believe for every applicant which are required to submit are: Photocopy of PCC, Photocopy of Valid Passport or the latest passport, Photocopy of Birth Certificate, 2 Colored Photographs (2x2 inches) that's it.

Thanks Puru for detailed response on most of the questions. The person I am trying to help (petitioner) tried to login at DOS website, but it asks for Invoice ID to login.

· How did you get invoice ID, if they didn’t contact you or your dad yet?

· Did they request all paperwork or you just completed proactively, submitted it and they reviewed it.

· Petitioner has sent email to NVC few weeks ago, and didn’t get any response yet.

Good luck to you and I think it would helpful to this community, if you can share how to rock ahead like you and don't wait for NVC.

Thanks again!

NVC must send you the invoice ID in e-mail. Try to figure it out in the signature of that mail.

· Did they request all paperwork or you just completed proactively, submitted it and they reviewed it.

No one can complete the paperwork proactively. Obviously they did approach us (me and my dad) in a month of feb 2015.

· Petitioner has sent email to NVC few weeks ago, and didn’t get any response yet.

Maybe the petitioner's Priority date is not eligible for consular processing yet. Moreover, NVC usually replies back after a month these days, THE PETITIONER should wait for their reply at least for a month or so.

Good luck to you and I think it would helpful to this community, if you can share how to rock ahead like you and don't wait for NVC.

Thanks for your wishes and concern!!

I will help out our fellow members always. I am rocking ahead or not that's not my opinion about myself and i take it as a compliment whenever it mentioned by others. As i said in my previous post, it took years to get used to this immigration rules and regulations. Its a kinda struggle, face it and win it accordingly. Nuf said!!

Good luck for your known one!!

If DS-261 is available on ceac.state.gov but you dnt gt the mail then wait for a week at least. Soon, you and your daughter will receive mails in this regard. If you fill out DS-261 and submit it will not delay your case because it takes at least 15 days for them to review ur submitted DS-261.

Important: You will receive an Invoice for AOS with your welcome letters, therefore you should get prepare to fill I-864 and start gathering all required financial documents.

An Applicant has to fill DS-260 form. Yes, it can be filled by petitioner if petitioner has all the necessary information asked in the form to fill. You can make endless changes to the form once you get started and save it "n" number of times but only on the their website: ceac.state.gov. Every time you need to log in with ur case number and invoice ID whether u are a petitioner or an applicant it doesnt matter. You can fill out the form and save it for future changes, then ur daughter log in from Pakistan and make changes accordingly and save it then and there.

TIP to fill out easily: Call ur daughter on skype, and log in to the website and ask all the information ur daughter has like Passport number, issuing authority, her schooling, college details, employment details, and their addresses etc. because these are some detailed info which an applicant can tell about himself not a petitioner. Once you done with the form, tell your daughter to log in to the website: ceac.state.gov and go through it and if any changes required then she could do that and save it. For your satisfaction, log in again and check it again.

DS-260 is very typical and detailed form and requires time because it asks many questions therefore its not a task to finish it in just one day, you need to get handy with many information. You can't download the form DS-260 in pdf format or in any format, all you need to log in and save it until you don't submit it. Once you submit the form YOU CAN'T MAKE ANY CHANGES, you can print the form for future reference because they might ask some questions from your DS-260 during the interview. Mine has been submitted and I can see my DS-260 and take print out anytime I want but can't make any changes now.

By d way, I took only an hour to fill out and submit it on just same day.

2) What is included in IV Package i.e. what forms and documents. It is for unmarried daughter.
I am aware of following documents
1) Police certificate for my daughter
2) Passport photocopy
3) 2 passport pictures
4) Birth certificate.
Your daughter MUST put the documents in following order ONLY:
First Page: The Bar-Code Sheet which states the Case Number of your case and applicant's name and a Bar-code of your case.
Second Page: Document Cover Sheet, where an applicant (ur daughter) need to check "Enclosed" boxes of those items which she's sending in IV package, other than required needs to get check on "Not Applicable" boxes.
Third Page: Photocopy of Birth Certificate.
Fourth Page: Photocopy of Valid Passport.
Fifth Page: 2 Photographs (2x2 inches).
Sixth Page & the Last Page: Photocopy of Police Certificate.
NOTE: Document Cover Sheet remains the same for both AOS and IV packages but Bar-Code Sheets will be different for both packages or both IV and AOS has their own Bar-Code Sheets you will be access those sheets once paid the fees for both AOS and IV fee.
One more tip: Tell your daughter to write the case number on right hand side top corner of every document including Birth Certificate, Passport copies, Police certificates and write it on the back of the photographs with the name of applicant as well. And you should do the same on financial documents as well while sending the AOS package to NVC.
I hope my reply will help you a bit. Best of luck for your case!!

Hi Puru,

I finally heard from the NVC yesterday, they sent a letter titled NVC Welcome Letter (ACL), the letter contains my NVC Case Number and Invoice ID Number and I was directed to nvc.state.gov to begin NVC processing.

They also sent another letter to my petitioner quoting all my particulars and including Affidavit of Support Fee Invoice of $120 to be paid by my petitioner.

Now my mind is at rest, I can go on with the filing of the forms and start getting all the required document.

Puru, I still want to thank you and others who have helped so far and I will still need your help when necessary.

Thanks

I am very happy that your process has also started. My link for DS-261 is now available but I have not received email from NVC and therefore afraid to fill it out. I spoke with NVC yesterday and they told me to wait for few weeks and they will be sending email.
