Hi Puru,

Is your dad the petitioner? If yes, then he better be in the USA when your procedures are going on. I read on the NVC website that the sponsor has to be in the US when the applicant sets foot on US soil. Please check immediately.

Thanks chubbs. Yes, I know the fact that petitioner has to be in the US. He is coming to India to wrap up especially to deal with the property and his NR accounts and will be back to US after a month stay. He will be back there in a month of June and I dont think that I will gt the interview before that, as per the current movement of bulletin mine will be current in July or august.

Hi, peru please can you send me the link to NVC site where it stated that petitioner needs to be in the US at the time of the Beneficiary interview. I know I have read something like that but I'm not sure of exactly where I read it. I need to show it to someone, please.

It took them 6+ weeks. Best thing at this time is to call NVC and they will confirm to you that your case is now ready for processing. I called them yesterday night at around 9:00 p.m. (I had to be on hold for 30 minutes) but got confirmation that both my cases got current for processing on March 27, 2015 and I will be receiving communication latest by 42 days from March 27, 2015. I did not ask them if it was regular 42 days or 42 business days. If it is 42 business days I do no expect anything this month to start the paper work.

Hi Hamida,

I really appreciate your swift response.

Please can you help me with the NVC telephone number with which you called them, and what information should I have readily available before I place the call on them?

Thanks in advance.

My PD is 17th Dec 2008.

My petitioner and me both sent the photocopies to NVC. Photocopies of everything including every Financial and Civil Documents but I will bring the original documents of these two sets at interview for sure and it is mandatory and strictly instructed by NVC nowadays.

I gt my PCC from Passport seva kendra (PSK) on 13th March 2015 in New Delhi and my embassy is New Delhi not a consulate of Mumbai because I live in delhi not in mumbai.

Civil Documents for me and I believe for every applicant which are required to submit are: Photocopy of PCC, Photocopy of Valid Passport or the latest passport, Photocopy of Birth Certificate, 2 Colored Photographs (2x2 inches) that's it.

Hello Puru444,

I'm a bit confused here, am I not getting something clear or what? How were you able to start your processing when your PD is yet to be current? I thought it was the other way round, i.e the case been current before processing. My PD is 7th Dec 2008, F2B and am yet to hear from NVC.

Could country of chargeability be the reason for that or what?

Please enlighten me.

Thanks in advance.

You need your case no.

Beneficiary date of birth and name

petitioner date of birth and name

first they will ask if you are beneficiary or petitioner.

also they will validate the email address and phone no with you.

I just called NVC few minutes ago about my IV application fee, DS-261 which I was asked to resubmit, and whether I can send my civil documents: The response from them is as follows:

1. They have not processed my DS 261

2. I will get instruction to pay IV fees as soon as they process my DS-261

3. I can send my civil documents.

Please, house, which documents are required for civil document?

NVC starts consular processing when the PD is going to be current within upcoming 6 months. Consular processing takes time that's why NVC approach applicant and petitioner in this regard to deal with the complex paperwork which actually requires some time in this activity.

If ur PD is 7th Dec 2008 then you should try calling NVC non stop. If I were in ur shoes then I couldn't sleep until I made them convince to open my case for consular processing.

GOLDEN RULE: WHEN PD BECOMES CURRENT THEN YOUR CASE BECOMES ELIGIBLE TO GET THE VISA NUMBER (Which means case got an interview letter when pd becomes current in bulletin) You are equally responsible to clear out ur case asap otherwise you have already waited for ages and in this way you will keep on wait and leave this system on its own .... Its ur necessity not theirs.

SO, don't waste ur time and start calling NVC and won't hung up unless you got the assurance.

Seeing ur timeline, looks like u r Rocking ahead...Good Luck...

Thanks Visa Grant!!

I have been waiting for this activity since I had been left out alone here in India and didn't succeed to get the greencard back in year 2007. Its been almost 8 years without parents with no marriage and with strong mental attitude towards life in a hope of better tomorrow. It took years in studying this immigration rule book of america and to deal with during different occasions and events with different expertise and with the helpful advises from the specialists like you. No matter what this Visa Journey really helped many lives in this world right now.

Superb work done by admin and its team!! And special thanks to the people like you who are still contributing after completion of your immigration journey.

Hello Puru,

I was able to get hold of one of the reps. in NVC after about more than 30 minutes of call waiting. The lady I spoke with asked what I wanted after asking for my particulars and that of my petitioner, and I told her I wanted to know about my case status which she checked and said that an information was sent out about my case on February 26, 2015, but I told her that i didn't get anything.

My mother who's the petitioner does not have an e-mail address and I wonder where they sent the information to. Nevertheless, I gave her my e-mail address and she said she will forward the information to my mail between 3-5 days.

I will call them again if after 5 days i don't hear from them, i will keep calling them just as you suggested until i have a good response to start processing my case.

Thanks for your kind suggestion as I look forward to hearing from NVC soon.
